The Green Papaya serves amazing Vietnamese food. The decor is great- behind the bar is a "waterfall" coming down the wall. The service is always fast and friendly. I recommend the carmelized duck and any of the noodle dishes. The soup is great too. The best part is the value- it's really inexpensive for a Bethesda restaurant. The ambiance is much nicer than Tara Thai or Austin Grill, but it's about the same price range.
The restaurant is about 3 blocks from the Bethesda metro. The area has a lot of restaurants, bars, coffees shops, and a movie theater, so it's a nice place for a night out.
