This is an old standby favorite; if you like pizza this is a great place. For a quick budget meal, it's really a great slice. I recommend going with the old traditional pepperoni and mushroom but the pineapple is also really great. This place is not too crowed which is also a plus and makes a nice place for catching up with friends.

This well known restaurant is a great place for chinese food. I recommend getting some of the more adventurous dishes as they offer some creative new selections on the menu. I also enjoy the festive decor at Alices, which conveys a feeling of celebration. This is a good way to share your fortune (cookie) with a friend. Plan for extra parking time as this area can be tough.

I recommend going to Basil with a few friends who you want to catch up with as it is relatively quiet place to enjoy the food and chat. All the dishes are good - I haven't had a bad meal here. Parking is usually very easy too.

This is a great pizza if you prefer a lot of topping and a thicker crust. I prefer to go to the original north beach pizza --- in north beach - it's a little difficult to find (you have to walk up the hill), but well worth working up the appetite. This place has a real charm and reflects the old school feel of north beach, which is what made this chain famous. Plean well ahead for parking.

This place is relatively hidden away and unknown; it is often populated with a mix of locals and tourists, but offers a great place for a creative mix of asian fusion. I tried many dishes and all of them were fabulous. Try to take muni or go early to avoid a parking crunch.
