The revamped Crobar has ditched its gritty warehouse-like finishes in favor of an open and airy South Beach feel, complete with a glass-encased VIP room. The swirling crowd on the dance floor, however, remains the club's real focal point. The floor is framed above by a balcony lined with booths that offer a great view of what's going on down below. It was better in its days as now the croud is kind of suburban and the music is very o.k.

this is a upscale yet moderately priced American bistro and bar has a club atmosphere with its mahogany, chrome and steel accents. The large outdoor patio draws a hefty Lincoln Park crowd who make this place their warm-weather hangout. Choose from an array of sandwiches, salads and wraps. Sauce recently installed five plasma screen televisions; expect a constant stream of sports, especially during football season.
When we went the bar was empty and people didn't start to show up till 11:00 at night.so go planned accordingly.

This reasonably priced restaurant features pasta and fresh fish and does not skimp on atmosphere. A wall of seascape murals and a skylight brightens the bilevel dining room during the day. The front of Pegasus is all windows, which open onto the sidewalk during nice weather. During the summer, a rooftop cafe features an abbreviated menu, a three-piece Greek band nightly between Monday and Friday and a view of the skyline. The rather extensive wine list includes Mediterranean and American selections.

Louis and Helen Manolakos have run this pink-and-white bakery since 1973. There are many fresh-baked cookies to choose from, including Greek wedding cookies, "Zorba the Greek"-style Christmas cookies, almond apricot cookies and more. There are also spinach and cheese pies, coffee cake, fresh bread, sesame candy and ice cream. A few tables and chairs allow patrons to sit down and dip their purchases in thick Greek coffee. If you're lucky, Louie himself will sit down and shoot the breeze with you.

The clatter of flying dice echoes off the brick bars as Greek-Americans play fast-paced games of backgammon. The exposed brick, mahogany wood, Greek music and regular clientele (90 percent Greek) give this place an Old World feel. Eight French doors open onto the sidewalk. Nine Muses serves 300 pounds of chicken a week; the manager says the place is famous for an iced coffee drink called a "frappe.".
It is a great place for a satisfying meal at a great price.

This small, word-of-mouth restaurant, popular for lunch, doesn't look like much on the outside; inside, there's a high tin ceiling, dark wood walls and antique posters, drawings and knick-knacks. The menu is written on a chalkboard on the wall, and the bar features a small but selective list of beers.
The lemon chicken is to die for and this place is cheap.

This popular, established restaurant inspired a suburban counterpart in Lombard. The menu features fresh seafood, lamb and chicken; a cooler displays what's available that day. Half-orders and combination entrees are available. The open kitchen allows customers to watch the chefs and choose what they would like to eat. With about 400 seats, this is the biggest restaurant in Greektown, with several dining rooms.
it is a great place after the theater, ballgame, or work on a Friday! The Scordalia is very tasty, the octopus a delight, and the Shrimp Tourkolimano melts in your mouth. Save room for Baklavah! Anyone who doesn't like this place is stuck up - the waiters are fine, just don't expect them to bow and scrape (anything but the tablecloth after the meal!).

This white-tablecloth restaurant (in the wide-open space formerly occupied by Courtyards of Plaka) is modeled after a Mediterranean villa, with terra cotta tile floors and rough-textured walls. Regional specialties include garlicky appetizers, saganaki (of course), lamb dishes, seafood, kebabs and vegetarian moussaka. A pianist plays background music.
We went to costa's and loved it!! the food was delicious (the flaming cheese is great as an appetizer!) and the portions were very generous. a friend and i shared a greek salad and an entree and they split it for us without us even asking (at no charge). our waiter was very attentive and friendly and gave good recommendations. we will definitely go back!

Here the owners make several claims: 1) Their restaurant is the oldest in the neighborhood. 2) They invented flaming saganaki in 1968, and it has since been exported to Greece, and 3) Parthenon was the place that brought gyros to Chicago. What we know for sure: There are more than 140 dishes offered, including sea bass, red snapper, calamari, moussaka and vegetarian preparations. Portions are huge. You can even order a whole roasted suckling pig (feeds 12; call ahead) and lamb's head. The floors in the cocktail lounge feature green Greek marble; the dining room seats 300 and can accommodate private parties.
