I like to grab a burger here and walk across the street to the park to eat.

The food here is a good value. You can expect and flavorful food and friendly service. They have a beautiful fish tank to watch when waiting for your food. Of course you could always call in your order for take out too. My minor complaint here is the color scheme in the restaurant makes me feel like Iโve traveled back into the โ80s. The food and service is worth the โtripโ though.

The ambiance exotic and open; however, it can be noisy when they are super busy. Thai Ginger is located right in Redmond Town Center and is a good place to stop after shopping, before a movie or even for lunch. There can be a wait sometimes during the busiest eating hours, so plan ahead.
The one thing I would like to see different here is an increase in their limited selection of teas.

This place has a smoking section that can't be avoided. I don't recommend this place unless you smoke.

I have noticed that hot and sour soup often doesnโt come with pork these days, even if you order a large bowl of it. This hot and sour soup does have pork in it, but they also put shredded carrot in it which I found unusual, but not bad. This is a great place for a quick inexpensive lunch ($5.50-7.00). They even have a teriyaki chicken bowl.

Thereโs something to be said about understanding the process at an Ivarโs bar. You feel like an insider. Like a local (which I am).
This is how it works:
You are in line, three or four (or five, depending on how busy they are) from the cashier. Suddenly the cashier hollers at you something like, โWhatโll it be?โ
Now if you arenโt expecting this you might not notice that your up to โorderโ or you say, I can wait, or something to the effect that you donโt know whatโs going on.
At this point your response should be for the items from the fryer. Iโd say, โA three piece.โ So the idea here is to get your order going as soon as possible to shorten the wait time. Then when you reach the counter to pay you order your drink and chowder.
Some people have a preference on chowder. I like them all. The white is creamy and slightly smoky. The red is a tangy and creamy chowder. The salmon is rich and smoky. Their tarter sauce is the best; I buy the jars (available in grocery stores) for home too. I like all of the fish on the menu, except I really prefer to have salmon grilled vs. deep fried.
The French fries havenโt changed much over the years. They are big slices of potato fried just enough to warm them. After sitting for several minutes they get soggy. I think they originally designed the fries this way so you wouldnโt feel a whole lot of remorse feeding them to the gulls and ducks, which is a common thing to do and Ivar encouraged it.
Pier 54 is the busiest fish bar, and they have the most seagulls. Visit their web site:

Call Gene Juarez and schedule a Hawaiian (Lomi-Lomi) massage with Jay.
Get there early and sit in the steam room. Then lounge in your robe and read up on the latest health and beauty trends while sipping ice water. Next you will be escorted to an area where you receive a nice foot soak.
Me and about 3 other people were there in this huge facility .on a weeknight. At first it felt a little bit strange in this huge place. Occasionally someone would find me and check in with me. Once I got comfortable, I felt like a queen in this huge modern castle.
When Jay has the room ready for you he will bring you back and get you settled there. During the massage you feel as if you have drifted across the Pacific to Hawaii.
If you have had a Swedish massage, don't expect the same techniques. Lomi-lomi is very different, you'll experience deep and elongating strokes.
Afterward, I stood tall, and felt like I had grown an inch or two. It was a great massage. I also felt very pampered and special leaving with a beautiful lei.

If I want fresh local yummy peaches (like the one I had this morning) or gravenstein apples or any fresh fruit or vegetable, Larry's Maket is the place to go. Of all of the grocers in the Redmond area Larry's is the best for produce, hands down. They can be a little more $; but for the fresh in season produce, they are competitivly priced.
Their deli serves breakfast. It is an ok breakfast. The last one I had there didn't seem to be "hot off the grill."
Larrys is a great option for lunch. There is a nice outdoor seating area (as well as indoors). You can't go wrong with their tomato bisque and a freshly made sandwich to order, or a freshly made salad. Try the pre-made winter wheat salad with cranberries and bits of apple. It is chewy and tart, a very healthy, hearty choice.
The deli counter staff is helpful and pleasant sample anything you want. You can order a brick or wheel of any kind of cheese you can imagine too.
There's more, wait until you see the baked goods and the seafood and meat counters. If you want truffle honey or truffle oil -- they got it, and more...
At Larry's I don't buy the standard stuff like TP, etc. This store is where I get all of the fresh produce and unusual or gourmet items.

I have visited the Bellevue Botanical Gardens for their holiday light display several years now. They are adding and making it bigger and more beautiful every year. I highly recommend visiting this time of year. It is very nice to stroll through the property to see all of the displays.
I can't imagine all of the work that goes into creating a display like this, it must take a small army! A donation for your visit is requested.
I have not made a special trip to visit the garden any other time of year. I suppose it is because there are so many other great parks in the area.

The Seattle Uwajimaya is great place for fresh produce and everthing Asian. It is usally bustling with activity which makes the place even more fun to visit. It's not just grocery shopping, it's an experinece.
All of the wandering through the gift area and bookstore alone can work up an appetite. Then it's time to stop in the food court and order a bubble tea and some Thai food or a bowl of pho soup. Yum!!
When you gain enough strength, go back and get your grocery shopping done. Just remember to bring in your parking stub to get validation for free parking while your are shopping.
