Teany

Friday, October 15, 2004
Proprietors Moby and Kelly. A light-hearted tea cafe where one can talk till the wee hours. Silver toned furniture and candlelit metallic tables lends a soft aura. A heat generating place that boasts 98 (at last count) kinds of teas. Specializes in Vegan but also caters to the non-vegetarian (moi). Recommend the exquisite earl grey creme - an aromatic tea of dynamic porportions. Scone-like scent with hints of vanilla balanced by the bergamot of earl grey fame. Drink. Savour. Reach tea nirvana. Repeat.

Tea not your thing? *ahem Loser* Lovely concoctions awaits you -- yummy drinks, salads and sandwiches. Don't know where to begin? Start with the goat cheese and artichoke salad or perhaps the turkey club. Or if you have room for plenty, sample the teany tea special, 'afternoon tea.' The food is quite tasty. The only thing I would hesitate on ordering, the vegan desserts. Ordered the strawberry shortcake, vegan, not so pleasant. There's a scene from "About A Boy", that fits perfectly with my opinion on this dessert. Also, snuck in a sip of the Silver Needle white tea. Pleasant, light and fragrant. Has the slight brine taste of green tea.

Play with the robot mascot. I did.
