Vivo on Randolph is a great restaurant for upscale Italian, or for those who just want a trendier restaurant.
The decor is cool, the lighting is low, and the menu is fantastic! They have a decent wine list, but many of the bottles are expensive ($35 was the cheapest). The pasta dishes are between $16-20 per plate, but you are served a lot of food! I highly recommend the bowtie pasta with the salmon. It is delicious! They also have wonderful olive oil for bread dipping.
I highly recommend Vivo!

I went to Presidential Dental Associates and saw Dr. Erin Cox. This was my first experience with a dentist in Chicago (after moving here from out of state). Presidential Dental came recommended by a friend.
Dr. Cox was fabulous! She was on-time, very nice, and very gentle with my sensitive gums. Scheduling appointments is easy and they take dental insurance. I don't have insurance, but I didn't feel pressured into dental services that I didn't need. She did find a few cavities, but let me know which were important to fill now and which could wait until after I am eligible for insurance.
I highly recommend them!

Monday's is a huge bar and restaurant in a great downtown location at LaSalle and Lake. It's popular for lunch as well as Happy Hour. The menu is okay, mostly consisting of typical bar food, burgers and sandwiches, but they do have a few good salads and soups to choose from. The chicken florentine soup was delicious! They also make some pretty good pizza.
They have plenty of room to seat large groups together and the waitstaff is used to dealing with large groups of people.

Geja's Cafe is a small fondue restaurant tucked away in the heart of Lincoln Park. The food is fabulous and so romantic! If you let the hostess know when you're making your reservation that it is for a special occasion, they will try to seat you at one of the best tables in the place!
You have a choice of different meals, we went with the three types of fondue--cheese, oil for meats and chocolate for dessert. If you leave this place and you're still hungry, there's something wrong with you! The cheese is served with pieces of bread, apples and grapes. You have a selection of meats and vegetables to choose from, and then for dessert, you are served fruit, pound cake, and marshmallows to dip in chocolate.
Heavenly!

Twist on Sheffield in Wrigleyville is a great little place for tapas. It's very small, so it can get crowded quickly. They do have some outdoor seating, but the restaurant is very close to the el, so I'm not sure how quiet it would be to dine outside.
The tapas menu is extensive and delicious, but they do not have the flair that a few of the other Chicago tapas restaurants have. The sangria is good! I would suggest it more for the experienced tapas diner than a first-timer, just because it can be so overwhelming in such a small restaurant.

Tango Sur is a great little restaurant on Southport, just south of Grace. It's always packed with large groups, so it's a good idea to get there early! We actually tried to eat there several times before we finally got a table!
The menu is mostly meat, but it has a great variety of Argentinian beef dishes. The portions are large, so you can take some home for another meal! We definitely didn't leave hungry!
It's a great restaurant for a birthday or other celebration and they do their best to accommodate larger groups. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did!

Angelina's is somewhat tucked away just south of Addison on Broadway. I walked by it many times without even realizing it was there! My mistake!
Angelina's is a small, romantic restaurant in bustling Lakeview. Great Italian dishes in large portions accompanied by a large wine list and fantastic bread.
I've tried several of their entrées and have never been disappointed! It's a great romantic retreat with lots of intimate tables. It's perfect for a date!
I'm not sure if they take reservations, so it might be a good idea to go earlier in the evening to get a table. It's worth it, though!

Joy's is a great little restaurant on Broadway, just off of Belmont in Lakeview. The menu isn't huge, but the meals are excellent!
It's BYOB and they do not charge a cork fee. Every noodle dish or appetizer I've tried there has been fantastic.
There isn't much seating, but during the summer, their large windows open up to make you feel as though you're eating outside. Joy's has carryout, which is a good option for those times that the place is crowded.
It's well worth the wait, though. Try it out and you'll be impressed with Joy's!

Went to Tutto Orsi on a whim, but we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a large bar, indoor and outdoor seating.
We opted to dine al fresco on their covered patio. The atmosphere is nice, and because the patio was covered and enclosed, we weren't even distracted by the expressway being so close.
The bread was so good that we decided not to order an appetizer. We went with a group of four and everyone ordered a different entrée. After sampling everyone's food (they were all delicious!) and filling up on bread, we all took about half of our dinners home.
The price is great, the portions are huge, and they have a decent wine selection. My husband was particularly impressed that they had Peroni!
They apparently also have live music on some weekends...we saw a sign advertising a pianist for the evening we were there.
We will definitely go back!

The location of the Dark Horse can't be beat! It's located right on Sheffield about a block away from Wrigley Field.
They usually have great drink specials, some limited outdoor seating, and great atmosphere inside. The bar is somewhat small, but what it lacks in space is made up for in character.
They've got several flat screen televisions mounted on the walls all over the place, so you're not ever in a bad spot to watch a game.
The food is pretty good and they have a typical bar menu, but it is slightly overpriced in my opinion. Still, The Dark Horse is a great value overall!
