Table service is understaffed on weekends. Difficult to get coffee or items to go in a timely fashion. Staff could be more pleasant

I don't know what makes this steak the best in Philly; maybe it's the great roll, the tender meat cooked to perfection, or the good quality cheese that it's topped with. Maybe it's a combination of everything put together. Gino's and Pat's Steaks pale in comparison to Dalessandro's. Definately worth the trip to Roxborough!

Spasso is a great find on Front Street. I never heard much about this place until I was here for a group dinner. Delicious Italian food skillfully prepared. Portions are generous. Menu selections include most Itlalian classics; the veal is outstanding. Parking is challenging on Front Street; be willing to pay for a parking lot.

There are places you can go for a massage and other beauty treatments, then there is Toppers. It stands alone with regards to atmosphere and service. I was a little intimidated my first visit, having never been to any place like it. The staff was warm and welcoming, and not stuffy and uptight as I imagined they might be. A one hour massage is approx $80, but well worth the treat.

Almost everyone has heard of Le Bec Fin and its culinary influence on Philadelphia. Georges Perrier also owns this popular spot on Walnut Street. The food was certainly good, but after hearing many rave reviews of Perrier the culinary icon, I was a little disappointed. For the price (easily $28 and up per entree) the food was what I'd find at many good quality retaurants in Philadelphia. I was also not inspired by the atmosphere; a bland, modern interior that lacked warmth and charm. Service was very professional and the dessert menu was outstanding.

Kudos to Fork; sometimes innovative chefs prepare food that is just too "out there" for most people to take seriously. Not the case here. The dishes are creative and flavorful, centered around staples like seafood, chicken, and beef. My favorite is the flank steak and frites. Portions aren't tiny. Ambiance is fun and relaxed.
There is also a separate menu for a late night menu at the bar.

Bistro Romano is a wonderful restaurant located in an old granary. The bar and event room are on the main and upper floors while dinner is served downstairs in the cozy wine cellar. For extra privacy, ask for the table for two in the wine vault.
Italian classics are perfectly prepared. My favorite is the seafood linguine in white wine broth. They are well known for their caesar salads, prepared tableside. Not to be missed. A wonderful date or special occasion spot.

Beware of the dueling Vietnamese restaurants!
It's no joke that this restaurant is DIRECTLY across the street from "Vietnam Palace" restaurant.
Both are recently renovated, have terrible access to local parking, and have good food. "Vietnam" gets my fave rating because it has one particular dish I like that the other does not have ; assemble yourself thin dumpling skins with chicken, vermicelli, sprouts, carrot, peanuts, and fresh mint.
Service is quick and the prices are great.
Go if you can find parking...

Strpied Bass also has the most beautifully appointed restroom I have seen. Also a wonderful 3 course Sunday brunch (appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee)
