This restaurant is very picturesque sitting above the ocean on a pier. I was surprised to find VA charges a fee to walk on their piers, but was told that hurricanes take them out now and then so the fee collected is used to replace them. It is free to get to the restaurant. We sat outside under umbrella's. My prawns were good, and the sides were optional I had fries and salad, my sister salad and broccoli. My husband's flounder was a little overdone and far too big and the stuffing didn't have enough crab. The service was good with lots of tea refills. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Honey Bee Golf Course in Virginia Beach, VA is close to the beaches, 1/2 drive to get there with just four turns (the last into the parking lot). Everyone playing was very friendly and several groups let us pass through even though we weren't pushing -- that says well mannered in my book. The course marshall gave us some good tips on local golf courses and chatted awhile. Lots of wildlife in the lakes -- cormorants, great blue heron, mallards, an osprey etc. The course was short but tough, the fairways and greens in good condition. We didn't try the restaurant, but bought drinks from the lady in the cart.

The Painted Lady restaurant, tea room, and gift shop turns out to be an almost private experience. Guests are seated by groups in individual rooms. The decor is tea-- tea pots and cups line the walls, hang from Christmas trees, and are placed on your table. Tea has a rich full taste and distinct flavor. Menu offerings are tasty -- they catered to my plain jane turkey with lettuce order, while delivering salads, quiche, crab melts etc. quickly and without mistake. Desserts are delicious -- I tried the Binafra pie -- chocolate cream/fudge with bananas -- it was tasty. The bread pudding comes extra-large with two pieces and a nice syrup, very rich. All were decorated with sugared violets. The name of the restaurant comes from a lady painted in roses that sits in the foyer. The restrooms are clean and the gift shop sells tea and lots of knickknacks. A fun experience.

I didn't notice any discount on the books I purchased at Smith Books. It was a quick stop but I found a great many current released novels and favorites. It's an interesting place because they stack all of their inventory sideways on the shelves, allowing you to read the titles easier. It's probably an easier way to stock the shelves, too. I found several good science fiction books on a row with commercial fiction offerings. Across the aisle was science, how perfect. I was offered additional help when requesting a business card and service was quick and friendly.

I found several classic science fiction books to add to my collection. I browsed the CD's but since I wasn't looking for anything specific didn't buy any, but was delighted to find some in house. I found a delightful book of early Celtic poems which will add to my pre-Ireland planning set. I found many, many poetry books which I appreciated. The staff was prompt at checking me out. I didn't even have to take a bag, another plus since my bag supply is always high. Fun place to shop.

Everything tasted wonderful at Big Time : The Uncommon Pizzeria. I don't eat pizza with an intolerance to dairy and dislike of cheese. So you can imagine my delight! I had a wonderful garden salad with chicken, craisin's and apple. Good flavor in their bread. My husband had a pastrami sandwich and fries that he scarfed down, my step-son a pasta dish with seared ahi. The prices were all under $10 for a lunch entree. Good beer on tap. Not very crowded at lunch. Italian decor. Friendly wait staff. Enjoyed myself a lot.

I like Levitz because they show their selections in a room by room arrangement and you can try the furniture out for fit. They also have swatches of material if you don't like the material that's on display. I find many couches don't fit my short legs well or provide good back support, so having a place that lets you try them out is wonderful. There selections run in the $1000- $3000 range (for 4 pieces), but they also have a returns section for less. They have a credit department, and you can arrange delivery or take it away in your pickup. They also have kitchen, dining, bedroom and office furniture and pictures, lamps, stuff to go with the overall look.

We bought a hot tub here 8 years ago and we continue to be happy with it. I wanted something wide enough to float in, not too many jets, quiet operation, and a bench style. Since then they've provided service twice -- once under warranty when the pump acted funny and they installed a replacement, and then 6 years later when the pump finally died, they replaced it. Service was within a couple days. They have a good selection of spa chemicals and supplies -- I recomment their heat saving blanket and the silver bullet. We're very happy.

This store is located at the intersection of Kent-Kangley Rd and Maple Valley Highway making it a convenient stop. They used to be the only place that carried Territorial Seeds, before they quit selling is WA. They had a good pond creation section, lots of hardware and tools, okay plant area -- just the most common perennials and good staff. They also had some picnic supplies, we looked for a cooler here.

This Lowe's (a former Eagle store) is huge, has a good yard with lots of decking, pavers, trim, ladders etc. The have a good showcase for kitchen's and bathrooms, and have many of their bathroom vanities open for viewing. Lots of lighting also, good paint section, great tools section and a large greenhouse with really good prices on perennials. Checkout is well staffed, there's usually one person dedicated to directions at the door, and a customer service center. They will deliver.
