Chicken and Grill is one of our favorite reasonably priced lunch hangouts. We go here once a week sometimes twice.
Formerly the Hoagie Hut, Chicken and Grill offers breakfast and lunch items. The lunch consists of sandwiches, salads, burgers and pastas. My favorite is currently the asian chicken salad but my co-worker swears by the spinach salad which is not on the menu. The place is small so avoid the lunch crowd if you can or go a little early. Parking is also horrendous at this place so that is why we walk here.

The salon offers a variety of hair treatments from cut and style to vitamin and conditioning treatments to coloring and highlighting. They also offer other services as eyebrow shaping, a variety of waxings and manicures. Each visit we were given a cup of tea to relax ourselves. I would recommend this place for those to live in the area.

Zen Buffet just recently opened in the Valley and they are surprisingly good. They consider themselves an upsale japanese and chinese buffet. They have a few locations in the Southern California area.
The best thing about this buffet is that they have snow crab legs and they have it all day long, not just during dinner. The sushi bar is good, the soup bar is decent, the dessert bar is good, etc. Overall this buffet is one of the better buffets that I have been too (not including the Vegas ones), and I would recommend this place to everyone.

This place offers reasonable prices for their food. The place is small and parking is difficult. We normally go off hours so that we can get parking and eat in. The place is really good for the price. We would recommend this place.

The Warehouse Restaurant is a seafood restaurant located in Marina Del Rey.
The menu has a variety of seafood items as well as a variety of tropical drinks. Reservations are recommended. There is patio area for outdoor eating and the view is pretty nice too. The food itself was a tad salty for my taste bud and the service that we got was below par for the expensive far that we were paying for. We went here for a special occasion and have not gone back since then.

Shah Abbas is a non-assuming restaurant located in a mini-mall in the West Hollywood area.
The food here is plentiful and delicious. We normally order the kabobs but they have a variety of other persian dishes that my co-workers swear are great. They have good lunch specials that include salads and rice.
We recently went inside the restaurant and was surprised at how nice the place is. They have a fountain right in the middle of the restaurant and the atmosphere is really relaxing. Outside in the patio, they have who-ka (spelled phonetically) stations set up for the who-ka users.
We come here every month for lunch so we definitely recommend.

Toppers is located on top of the hotel with a beautiful view of the sun setting over the beach.
We normally convene here for happy hour because of the location, appetizers and drinks. They have good and stiff margaritas and good happy hour appetizers ie marghita pizza, satays and calamari. The crowd at this happy hour is mixed and pretty yuppie.
Because of the location of the restaurant, onto of a hotel, there is a valet charge unless you can find parking on the streets but this being in Santa Monica, read the parking signs carefully to avoid receiving a parking ticket.

The Gas Lite is a bar by day and karoake bar by 9pm. They have karoake every night and there are a bunch of locals that come out and sing to their hearts content.
They have happy hour every night from 5 to 7pm and their specials are $2.50 well drinks (which means one hard alcohol mixed with another beverage) and draft beers. Also, they have free popcorn and entertainment. Entertainment being the real good as well as real bad karoake singers. I suggest that if you want to have a karoake night with your friends, come early so that you can have your chance on stage before the night crowd comes in... or come during the week for your opportunity to shine. It's a fun place and I would go again.

The Long Beach Arena is Long Beach is a pretty big and decent stadium where the Long Beach Ice Dogs play as well as concert performers.
We went here two times before and is scheduled to see the Killers in October. They have seats on the balcony area and general admission on the floor level. Stadium food is the same everywhere which means not good but the arena is located on Ocean Blvd in the LBC so there are a number of good restaurants nearby. Overall, this arena is pretty decent and I do not mind coming here to catch my favorite bands.

Diddy Riese Cookies is an institution for the students of UCLA. They offer cookies for 25 cents a piece. Their menu has grown some with ice cream cookie sandwiches for a buck, hot dogs and brownies.
Their mainstay is their cookies, they have different flavors and you cannot beat 25 cents a piece. We normally go here after a dinner or a movie for our dessert and it does not hurt our wallets. A treat and a tradition for the westside.
