Love, love, love this little bistro and take out place. Great old world charm surrounds the tables inside and outside at the sweet sidewalk seating area. Wonderful brunches dahling. Luscious baked goods, gourmet coffee, amazing entrées. Do be sure to try the candied bacon- so sinful in so many ways. Best of all- they have an exquisite selection of take away items for you to pick and choose from and a variety of food prepared, packaged and ready for your freezer and fridge. I often stock up before the holidays so I always have a casserole to pull out and impress guests with. One of my favorites is the three cheese, tomato, basil strata. They have the best Sarah Bernhardts I have ever tasted (and I have tried quite a few). If all that weren't enough, they offer fabulous gifts for any hostess on your list.

I love the toy selection here. While it can be a little more on the expensive side, the toys are great quality items- not cheap plastic doo-dads. I enjoy shopping here with my children for birthday presents for their friends. My kids like looking and aren't overwhelmed with cartoon, movie and corporate logos. They have toys and books for a wide age range- baby to tween. They do a nice job wrapping gifts. Whenever I see their sticker on a gift for my child, I know that the item inside will be appropriate, imaginative and fun.

After reading a review of this establishment, I took my car in and was just thrilled. They were prompt, thorough and very reasonable. I was able to save myself a trip to the dealership in Van Nuys after their diagnosis. It hardly cost me more than the gas would have to get their opinion. And, silly though it may seem, I really liked the waiting room. My kids were able to sit and have a drink of water- very pleasant compared to some places we've been over the years.

This pleasant Japanese restaurant on Green features the usual full range of dinners, sushi and even a few noodle options. Service is always attentive and exceedingly polite. You're greeted resoundingly upon entrance, but the amiability never imposes. The food's great too. While we still miss Hugo Molina (who used to have his eatery at this address) Matsuri is a lovely addition to the neighborhood- warm, friendly and delicious with a laid back atmosphere.

This fun place has lots to look at and a varied selection of ice cream treats to indulge yourself. Sodas, malts, shakes, splits and sundaes made the old fashioned way- with great quality ice cream. Have no doubt- eating Fosselman's ice cream surrounded by funky memorabilia can't be beat. There are a few tables outside which is nice sometimes when the TV's are blaring inside. The TV's can be a big distraction and sometimes make conversation difficult. Ask the staff to turn them down or off if need be! They serve breakfast and have burgers, dogs, sandwiches and sides available at lunch and dinner. The meals are pretty straight forward fare- expect fries and plastic basket. The prices are reasonable enough to make this a nice alternative to a fast food meal for the family when you have a little more time than money to enjoy yourselves.

This restaurant has gotten a lot of attention the past few years and I certainly have had some great food there. The broccoli lemon soup is a standout, but unfortunately does not show up on the menu very often. Also amazing are the sweet potato muffins- but if you want one, call ahead because once they sell out, they're gone. But the bottom line is that Rick charges way too much money for what he delivers. Entrées seldom change, are heavily sauced and quite often over salted. Santa Maria may not have many great restaurants, but don't feel limited to Rick's just because that's all you know. Go try Armani's middle eastern food off Cook Street or the steaks at the Hitching Post in Casmalia. Or just keep driving.

We've bought everything from trees to ground cover here. They have a spectacular array of trees, citrus, roses, shrubs, annuals, you name it. The staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable. They'll help you locate the plants on your list and give you advice about placement, water needs and varietal differences. There's a florist on site as well. Best of all they give you discount credit toward future purchases and have discounts for members of the various botanic gardens in the county.
