An (uncomfortable?) limbo

Monday, August 22, 2005
To some, PD O'Hurley's has some soul-searching to do. It cannot seem to decide whether it is an upscale restaurant or a regular pub. The result is a bar that has to maintain a barely-used restaurant, and is unintentionally overpriced to cover costs. To others, the restaurant makes it one of the classier Irish pubs in the city. It has good bar food, a nice wine list, a well-behaved clientele, and a pleasant wait staff. If you take a date, you can probably get a quiet table in the restaurant area, even if you are not planning to order food. Added bonus: If you walk in and do not like it, there are half a dozen Irish pubs within a one block radius.
