Built in the 50s, the Vineland Drive-In is a place like no other. It still exists after 50 years and after many drive-ins are nonexistent. If you're thinking 50s quality of theatre watching, you're wrong. They recently got new screens in 2003. There are four screens in all. You also hook up the sound system through your car. They show two movies only for 7 bucks and kids under 12 are free. Best of all, you have your own privacy and can't be annoyed by that one guy that always chews his popcorn loudly and talks during important scenes.

I don't know any other places that offer ice skating in Los Angeles. I guess if there were other ice skating rinks close by, the price would be more competitive. However, as of right now, the Pasadena ice skating center should do. This place gets busy at times, but it is a very cool place to bring the family. The center is very thoughtful of school fundraisers because they sell discounted fundraising packages for school clubs. They also have discounted rates for morning hours which they call "cheapskate". Otherwise, it costs about 10 bucks for regular sessions. If ice skating is not your thing, try hockey or broomball. The ice skating center also has birthday parties for 1 hour.

The plus side to the Pantry is that is open all the time. Great if you're heading home from a party and you're hungry and nothing else is open. The food is quite greasy, but that doesn't seem to bother many folks. The health conscious should defintely avoid this place at all costs. The pancakes are to die for and the pork chops and eggs are one of a kind. The huge servings of sour dough toast make you wanna come back. The price is fairly low compared with other diners, but it gets dark and drafty at times. I guess you should visit this place at least once in your life because it truly is a landmark.

Located in Eagle Rock, this is as close to Italy is it comes. The pizza is delicious. Although I can't compare to any pizzerias in Italy, from what I've heard, it comes pretty close. Aside from the lack of parking and long lines, I say this place is still worth it. If it's not pizza you want, you should at least try their calzones. Other recommended items on the menu have to be the raviloi and spaghetti al bianco.

There are not too many good pizza joints in the San Gabriel Valley. However, Scardino's Pizza, which is almost hidden and so hard to find, offers very tasty pizza. The restaurant, located in the South Hills plaza beside the 99 cents only store, offers more than just pizza. They have subs and pasta. They have pretty good garlic bread, but I just stick to the pizza. The best thing about the pizza is that there's so many toppings to choose from. They have salami and even pastrami! The best part about this place, well for me that is, is that they cater to on the go people - takeout only.

If you like to shop at Sanrio or any of those cute Japanese stores, you'll probably like Q-Pid. Although everything isn't 99 cents anymore (I don't know why they rised the prices) you can still find some things for 99 cents. They have a lot of school supplies with cartoon characters like Winnie the Pooh and other lesser known characters. They also have bath and kitchen accessories and they even have eyeliner and makeup.

This pet store, located in Atlantic Square next to Boston Market, has been in business for a while. It is right beside a animal hospital. The pet store does not have much cats or dogs. They have a lot of birds on the otherhand. Because they are a mom and pop shop, don't expect Petco and Petsmart variety. I usually go here for supplies because they have slightly better prices and items which can't be found at Pet chains.

The cool thing about Hong Kong Super Market is that it has a bunch of little stores inside. Some cater to older generations and some cater to the youth. They have a anime store right beside a medicinal herb store. They also have a one hour photo center so you can drop it off and pick it up after your shopping. Although the supermarket is rather cleaner than some of the other Asian supermarkets, they have higher prices and less selection. They have about half the aisles of the other Asian supermarkets. So Hong Kong Super Market does have its ups and downs.

My mom has been coming here for the longest time. She usually goes for plant food, but ends up wandering around looking at all the interesting plants. I've been there a couple of times and although the plants are more than what you expect to pay for at Home Depot, there are a lot more interesting ones at the San Gabriel Nursery. The owners are Asian, thus there is a lot of Asian plants. My mom especially likes to goes here for Chinese New Year because she can find the plants native to her country and hand them out as gifts.

This is one of those restaurants that have great service and a lovely atmosphere. Too bad, the food could use some improvement. They have lunch specials, but you can order a la carte if you want. The prices are considerably low. Too bad you pay for what you get for. The entrees are full of noodles or rice. You look down at your plate and wonder where is all the meat and veggies? The place is okay, but there are a lot more better Thai restaurants in Pasadena.
