The Village Optical is a nice little prescription glasses store. I personally don’t wear glasses but I have been in the store to pick up a prescription for someone else. They also sell some expensive sunglasses and prescription sunglasses. The employees were well mannered and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to get their glasses fixed or a prescription filled.

The Valley Forge National Park is a scenic park full of wildlife, biking and walking paths, and pieces of history. There are old log cabins, buildings, and memorials all throughout the park. To learn the history of the park there is a visitors center with guided tours by a knowledgeable historian. This is a great place to visit no matter whether you live across the world or right here in Pennsylvania.

The Fore Seasons Driving range is an awesome little driving range. It very well priced and is a great way to kill an hour or two. The one or two employees who man the place are very nice, and helpful. Probably the only bad thing I can say about it is that it is easily missed as your driving by. Otherwise it’s a fun way to spend a few hours.

The Waltz Golf Farm mini-putt is also batting cage and a driving range so there is plenty to do. The mini-putt is the main attraction with a great 18 hole course full of all sorts of obstacles. They also have kids course which is also 18 holes but has a different theme and is less difficult. I highly recommend it.

Devon Lanes is a really nice bowling alley devoted entirely to the bowling. After 10pm they turn on disco lights and crank up the music, which is neat but doesn't seem to improve your bowling. If your feeling hungry you can always order a pizza from the local pizza place which will be quickly delivered.
It is moderately priced and a great way to spend an evening.

The Phoenixville Lanes is a great bowling alley with plenty of lanes, an arcade, and a bar. They have good service and there are often great deals, like on Sunday you pay a flat rate for the lane and then everything else (food, shoes, etc…) is only $0.25. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to get out and bowl a game or two.

The Places! Bistro, associated with the wonderful People’s Light and Theatre, turned out to be quite a disappointment. It had astonishingly high priced Alfresco dining. The food was mediocre at best with tiny portions that barely supported the menu’s description. The service was pushy and rather amateurish. Overall I would never recommend this establishment to anyone.

This little museum on Valley Forge mountain is an inspirational gem. Guided tours are by reservation only, limited to about ten people per tour. Intimate tour of Esherick’s house and studio. Full of hand crafted woodwork, including sculptures and fine furniture/cabinetry. Very interesting use of local woods and materials in often whimsical designs. Highly recommended especially to artists and woodworkers.
