This small store reminds me of an old deli, with the sandwich makers behind the deli counter and ready to cut fresh slices of meat for your to-order sandwich. On the wall in a frig away from the counter is a selection of cheese for one to buy for their picnic. Quaint and nostalgic.

This store reminds me of a little country store, full of jams, jellies, and mustards. What’s better is that they offer a great selection of their flavors for tasting. Like their name sake, the hot pepper jelly is their signature jelly, but they also have a good selection of fruit-wine jams and jellies too.

Right along the main drag downtown, it’s worth a stop if you have a sweet tooth for cookies. The chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and peanut butter cookies were excellent and even better when freshly baked. When I arrived at the store, the cookies weren’t fresh baked but were still soft and warm.

This particular location has tons of space and easily has 3 store’s worth of stock. All the new items are in the front 2 large sections. In the back though, is the real gem. They sell all their returns and overstocks and it’s practically a huge warehouse of shelves and boxes of toys, books, educational material,…just waiting for you to dig through them and find your treasures. It’s a thrift shop of learning materials!

Located right along the San Francisco Bay with ferries taking you right to the park, this is really one of SF’s must-see places to visit. Even if you are a local, go at least once a year. The view is spectacular and the food selection includes garlic fries, burritos, pizzas, from a terrific smattering of San Francisco restaurants. Tickets are a little pricey but check out the SF Giants website.

There is a walkthrough tour for you and the kids, which leads into a retail store selling different qualities (including the harder to find ones) of Tillamook cheeses by the block, bag, slice, or variety bag. Little or big; great for the cheese lover. They also sell locally made beef jerky, jams, and jellies. After you’re done with the store, you walk right into the restaurant area, selling sandwiches, soups, and ice cream.

If you like country stores, this is a great one to visit. It’s like walking into a barn and the selection of items is outstanding. The store has two floors of old wood, locally-made cheeses, bottles of pop, collectibles, gourmet mustards, jams, jellies, and maple syrup. The cheese and mustard area has tasting stations. Gift items include wooden bowls, garden decorations, weathervanes, candles, books, Coca-Cola nostalgic items, and lots, lots more.
