The New Paltz Golf Course is a wonderful local course, and the perfect place for a game whether you're just staring out, or have been playing for years. The staff is incredibly professional, offer lessons for a reasonable price, there is a driving range, and both a pub and restaurant right on the course. This golf course is the best golf deal around.

Tantillo's Farm market, on Route 208 in Wallkill (just a few minutes from New Paltz and Newburgh), has the usual apple picking, but also a great selection of local produce, and the absolute best ice cream in the area. There are plenty of benches to relax and enjoy your treat, with the added benefit of being able to view the parachuters from the local airport landing. If you're visiting the area, make this one of your stops.

With the addition of a Maze of Maize (a wonderful corn maze), and hay rides, along with the usual apple picking and assortment of cider, donuts, jams, etc. to purchase, Hurd's Farm is a great stop on your tour of local Fall activities. Located on Route 32 in Modena, just a few minutes from New Paltz.

There is plenty of parking (huge lot right outside), and is within walking distance of most of the bars in New Paltz (great for a snack after a night out). It's always clean, and seating is prompt. Typical diner fare, and the service is quick.

Reasonably priced (a great spot for college students), the Taco Shack is definitely worth checking out for something a little different than most places in town.

The Village Tea Room is a great new addition to the breakfast/lunch scene in New Paltz. A converted house right near Main Street, in New Paltz, there is plenty of parking on the street and in the lot across the street, there two different areas of outside seating, and some very cool seating inside, and the breakfast pastries and food is great. The scones are amazing, and everything is served on great china. The tea comes in their own little pots - a great place for friends, moms and daughters, etc.

Very much a college hangout, Oasis Cafe does have a light food menu, but is mainly known for the chill late night scene. There is a club downstairs, but the action upstairs is very laid back - with a big bar, a pool table, and sometimes live music. If you're looking for a place where you can actually talk to your friends and hear yourself think, check it out.

My Hero, located right on Main Street, has great sandwiches, pizza, and italian dishes - for extremely reasonable prices. They also deliver. The inside of the restaurant is on the small side, but the wait is never long, and the food is worth it anyway. Try the italian hero, you'll definitely be going back.
