Balloon Celebrations was an overall disappointment when it comes to party supplies and balloons. Their balloons were excessively expensive and their service was unhelpful and hard to understand. They offer a variety of candies and other party supplies, but these were also expensive and hard to buy in bulk. A good place to pick up a little treat, but not to use for a real party.

The marvelous marble palace that is the Getty is an excursion that is worth the effort. Their exhibits are classic and the building itself is a piece of art. Located high atop a hill, the view from the edge is of all of Los Angeles and the coast. The problem of parking has been eliminated by the tram you take to the top. They offer food and glorious outdoor seating. The garden is a haven for those who like to stroll or study. Free for students.

The Armand Hammer Museum in Westwood is a wonderful escape from theu hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. They have wonderful exhibits, and manage to combine both classic and modern art. The photography exhibit was amazing, and their sculptures are some to marvel at. The indoor courtyard is so serene it makes you feel like you've been lifted out of downtown and placed somewhere in the countryside. An excellent day trip. Free for students.

Oakley's is a great little place to get a hair cut. I took my boy friend there and they were able to trim his hair to a leangth and style he actually lilked. The barber's were friendly and chatted with both he and I. The atmoshpere is very classic. The prices are reasonable, but the service will make you want to tip heavily! Good bang for your buck, and we're definitely going back.

Located in Westwood, parking is fairly difficult, but worth the walk and the effort. The help was... helpful and they help you pick the best eyewear for your face and perscription. I was not disappointed by their service or their products in the least and will return when my lenes get scratched or I need a new pair.

There are fighting games and racing games, along with arcade favorites. College students find it a great place to unwind after a tough day of classes. Close to cheap food and movie theaters, it adds to the ambience of Westwood.

The place is stuffed with college students at the beginning of the quarter because they get their course readers there. The whole place seems kind of shady and is fairly expensive. The help was not friendly and I felt driven out.

Mystery Book Store is a cute, quiet little bookstore tucked away in Westwood. The place seems family run and is thusly serene. Not like Border's or Barne's and Noble. They offer some of the newest titles, but also have hard to find novels and hardbacks. A wonderful little place to pick up a unique gift for a book-lover or to find a first edition of a well-loved novel. Happy hunting!
