i actually found my wedding dress at Clarissa's bridal salon. the staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. the person who was helping me asked me what i was looking for in a dress, let me walk around the store to see their selection for myself, and then she went around the store finding dresses that she thought i would like or look good on me. the dress i actually ended up getting was something she picked out for me that i would never have picked out for myself!

i heart trader joes! it's a grocery store that is a little different from the other grocery stores out there in that while it isn't really an organic type grocery store, the items it carries definitely focuses in that area. their prices are great, and they have their own trader joes line of food that is actually pretty good (and i like to think healthier than the ready-made food you find in other grocery stores)

the amc in emeryville is a nice theater in that it's new, and i believe all of the theaters have stadium style seating. my only complaint is actually a complaint that they may have no control over, but because the theater is attached to a mall, you have to pay to park in their parking lot. this is a little weird for a movie theater, especially considering that parking is not bad in the area.

the emeryville public market is a good place to go to if you aren't quite sure what you want. it's a collection of a lot of fast food shops, with a focus on ethnic food. it's good when you are in a big group and can't decide what you want because everyone can go someplace different and then meet up at the tables set up all around the area. but it's still fast food, so it's only so-so in quality, and i find it a little pricey for fast food.

Jeremy's is an interesting store because it sells returns, mess-ups, over stock, last season, etc. clothing brands that you find elsewhere. their sales can be amazing, so you'll find stuff super cheap, but sometimes you have to wade through a lot of clothes to find the really good deals. definitely worth checking out.

i got my engagement ring re-set here. while the staff seems pretty knowledgeable and willing to help, their follow though left something to be desired. i always had to call to check up on them, even when they would say they would call when it's ready. what would end up happening is I'd wait for awhile and then have to call and check up on it, and then they'd say it's ready and want me to come in and get it, but then it turns out it's only half ready (like the ring wasn't polished and rounded off yet), so they'd take it back and I'd have to go through the whole process again.

andronico's is a more high end grocery store, so it's a good place to go to when you're looking for something a little nicer than what you'll find at the local safeway and albertsons. but the prices tend to reflect that though, as items tend to be more expensive here across the board, even if it is something you could find elsewhere. (which is why i don't shop here all that often)
