Located on the west side in Chelsea, Manhattan Mini storage is the place most Manhattanites choose to store their stuff? Why? Mass advertising, large facility and decent prices (you can usually score a coupon and get one month free).
Apartments are small and space is limited so why not choose Manhattan?
They have a good reputation and are conveniently located.

If you haven't jumped on the flat screen/plasma bandwagon yet but are looking to get rid of your old tv, then Harry Poster might be for you.
Located in Fair Lawn about 15 miles from the George Washington Bridge, Harry Poster buys, sell and rents vintage TVs and electronic items such as radios.
Why would anyone want a vintage TV or radio? For notalgia, to decorate a house (hey, everything old is new again) and sometimes for movie sets.
Regardless, if you want to see if your old tube has any value, give them a call or check out their website. They can ship or pick up at request.

What a wonderful place to spend an afternoon! Located on millionaire's mile, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is a beautiful building housing beautitful art.
The permanent collection is one of the best in the city ranging from renaissance to modern to impressionist to cubist.
There are so many floors and rooms to discover, one can't do it in a day. Every time I visit the Met, I discover something new.
The best time to visit is during the summer when you can have a drink upstairs on the roof, enjoy a great view of central park and drink to the stars. Lovely, indeed; a true NY institution and moment.
Must visit for anyone.

Wow! The view from the top floors looking down at that wonderful Monet (water lilies) and seeing the crowds below is just breathtaking.
The beautifully designed MOMA was worth the wait (MOMA had moved to Queens while the old building in Manhattan was renovated) and what a renovation it is.
They have a wonderful garden and a solid collection of great artists including Cezanne, Van Gogh and Monet.
They also have great modern collections (most recently, a very avant-garde photographer whose work included vulgar nudes but hey, it's art).
Worth a trip especially on Fridays when the museum admission is free (yay!) thanks to Target.
Otherwise, $20 is a bit steep (more expensive than the Met).

Dr. Chaudry is a lovely, soft-spoken woman from Pakistan. Both she and her doctor run a family practice out of their home (located near Fair Lawn Avenue and Saddle River Avenue).
She is intelligent and takes the time to really ask and answer any questions you may have.
The only drawback I'd say is the waiting area - a tiny, claustrophobic sized space that is quite chilly (a/c is on too high) and the music blaring from the receptionist's desk is urban hip/hop - not the most relaxing thing to hear while waiting at a doctor's office.
But the personalized and attentive service more than makes up for these issues. The dr. is also very accessible so wait times for an appointment are very little.
If you live in the 'hood, then this may be a doctor you might like.

it's the type of place to bring your parents or a first date.
The room is impressive and the acoustics make for a lovely dining experience.
The food is first-rate American and just as tasty as eating at Bouley but without the sticker shock.
It's not cheap but it's also not extravagant.
A classic in my book.

I go out of my way to drive to Mr. Mort's because this is truly a nice dry cleaners. They care about their customers here and try to get to know everyone and their habits/preferences. They are resolute in getting stains out and also good out providing select tailoring.
The service is great and the prices very reasonable. The owner and his wife (and team) are very friendly and it's the kind of mom & pop store from days of yore.
Keep them going and support a nice local business.

Nobu is the place to be on a Thursday through Saturday night.
It's always crowded, there's always a wait and one can never secure a reservation at a normal dinner time unless you book a month in advance or your name happens to be Madonna, Ashley Olsen or Jude Law (yes, they've all eaten here recently).
The wonderful dishes are the main draw as well as the potential excitement of seeing a celebrity.
I have to say I've had better sushi elsewhere but the classic Nobu dishes are what bring me back - yellowtail sashimi with jalepeno, black cod with miso, the list goes on and on.
It's not terribly expensive either if you don't drink that much and stick to tap. Believe me, it's worth it and if you can't get in to Nobu, then try Next door nobu, same great dishes with less atitude and a hipper, younger vibe. They also have takeout at next door, yum!

The problem stems from inexperienced workers. Yes, I think it's great that the owner employs high school students looking for extra income but it shouldn't be at the expense of our clothes.
I used to like this cleaners but now I can honestly say, it's not worth it.

Very Special Flowers is a lovely shop located in the heart of the west village. Lovely store run by very nice people.
This store requires some serious dough but if you're out to impress then this is a great place to buy a seriously-stylish and expensive bouquet. A friend of mine had her wedding bouquet done here and it turned out stunning.
A great place to make an impression and support a local business!
