This place is awesome. They have great comedy every night. If you watch Best Week Ever, you'll be treated to some of the comedians from there. Also Dave Attell from Insomniac and Darrell Hammond from SNL (Bill Clinton, Ted Koppell) appear weekly. My friends have been there on nights when Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld have dropped in! There's also a cool restaurant upstairs to check out.

Webster Hall gets some really cool bands like Evanescence and Dogs Die In Hot Cars. Unfortunately, it's also home to a bunch of crappy club music 5 nights a week. It's in a cool location down around 11th and 3rd. Personally I'd rather go see a movie at the Loews there instead of going clubbing. I think it'd be a better rock venue if it weren't for the disco ball and the weird seating on the outside of the floor.

The Mercury Lounge is a great place to see a show. You can be mere inches away from your favorite singer, enjoy a great drink and meet some good looking people. Only thing that bugs me is that they don't let people in quickly before a show. You have to wait for other people to leave before you can go in. It's understandable though as it's pretty much packed on nights of shows

This museum's in a good neighborhood unlike those other museums way uptown where you don't like to walk at night. Anyways, I was a little unfamiliar with the art I'd see here before I visited. It's very asian-themed but not like manga or anime. There were some really cool paintings here. I'd definitely recommend it for someone who's sick of going to the Met or MOMA.

If you have some family in town and want them off your back, send them to the Empire State Building Observatory. Don't make them ask you for the money though. It's slightly expensive and over crowded. Only people who watch An Affair to Remember or Sleepless in Seattle will find it romantic.. these people being tourists

I'd say that the content is better than the cover here. I've been to Caroline's a few times and I'll tell you, you're only there for your favorite comedian. I've seen Artie Lange and Nick DiPaolo here and they absolutely lit up the whole place. It's a little over priced and I'd rather go somewhere like the Comedy Cellar on a no name night but if you want to see the big stars, this is where you go

This venue has replaced more traditional venues like Hammerstein Ballroom and Roseland Ballroom to see your favorite band. Bowery Ballroom unlike other places houses all different types of music from rap to swing to rock. There's a cool bar downstairs too. Do yourself a favor and go upstairs to grab a seat before the band hits the stage. You'll thank yourself if it's a long show

Hammerstein Ballroom used to be the best venue in New York City to catch your favorite band or artist. Unfortunately, the music and touring industry are suffering and many bands and artists are playing small venues like the Mercury Lounge or Bowery Ballroom. I saw Stone Temple Pilots here a few years ago and I loved the sound and the stage. Located just near Madison Square Garden, it's no question as to why this place was a great place to see live music

Not only are the people who work here snobs and rude but this place is boring as hell. A suggested admission price? I suggest you pay a dime and if you like it, you can come back and make a donation later. A complete waste of money and space. I only went for the Jurassic Park exhibit (which cost extra!) Seriously, don't pay more than a dime!

Screw Blockbuster. This is the neighborhood video store to go to. This is the store you see featured in movies like Clerks (well maybe not Clerks) where you know all the employees and they can suggest movies for you. There are no rewinding fees or minimum three day rentals. No lies about late fees here either. One of the few non-corporate video rental shops (non sex related) in the city.
