New York Magazine raved about their blueberry pancakes, so I decided to try them out. When I got there, I ended up ordering one of the the specials instead - Maryland Crab Cakes. They served 2 large crabcakes with a ton of shoe string french fries. They were very good, but slightly on the expensive side. The order of onion rings was large & quite good. Space is extremely limited & the tables are placed closely together, eliminating any real privacy. Incredibly long lines during weekend brunch & dinner hours. Best bet would be a weeknight. FYI, they serve pancakes at all times, not just during breakfast hours.

This restaurant is a bit out of the way for the usual Chinatown tourists, but worth walking the few extra blocks. It's located on the upper-level of a mini shopping center underneath the Manhattan Bridge. My favorites are the Black Peppercorn Scallops (served with peapods) and Shrimp with Walnuts (served with a mayo sauce & broccoli garnish). Generous portions, but a little pricey in my opinion. You can order the shrimp dish at any banquet-style restaurant, but I have yet to find a similar scallop dish elsewhere. That's the main reason I continue to patron this place. If the restaurant is hosting a wedding reception, there may not be tables available. If there are, you'll probably be squeezed into a corner.

Shrimp tempura rolls and tiger eye rolls are really good here. At times, the squid is slightly undercooked, so it seems fishy. Ask them to cook it well if you're concerned. The fried shrimp gyoza is very tasty. Quick service, good prices. The tables for 2 are too close together unless you're against the middle partition in the room. Good place to eat. I always go back.

Decent chinese food with an American flair. The decor is tacky with fluorescent lights everywhere, but the service is fine & the portions generous. The bamboo logs are very tasty & I highly recommend the salt & pepper squid. The soups taste like home cooking. You won't need reservations, but there may be a short wait on weekends.

A small restaurant on the border of Chinatown / Little Italy. The staff is very courteous & tends to remember you. There usually isn't a wait here, except during the festival in September. They have an excellent red sauce in 3 different levels of spicyness: mild, medium or hot. The friend shrimp over linguini with medium sauce is great! The bread they serve is usually dry & cold, but the main entrees are good!

This place has the best fried dumplings in Chinatown. Prices are very reasonable as well. I typically order fried pork dumplings, hot & sour soup & chicken with broccoli on rice (white sauce, not brown). The whole meal costs around $12 + tip. Not a bad price for the amount of food you get. The place gets packed around lunch, but is empty at dinner time. They also have very fast delivery.
