This place is an excellent choice for a night out, dinner for two. The food is absolutely delicious. Every time I go there, I have the best Tandoori food or curry. Their service is prompt, and refills on Chai are plentiful. The atmosphere is elegant and unique, with warm, dim lighting.
The only con is that it's slightly pricier than the other Indian restuarants in the area - about 5 bucks per meal more, and more if you get one of their daiquiris or other drinks (something not available at many other local Indian restaurants). If you're on a budget, you may want to save this location for special occasions.

The Tandoor is one of the numerous U-District Indian restuarants, and is pretty average. It has a good lunch buffet, and a pleasant dining area. The restaurant is usually quiet enough for a good conversation, the food is good, and the service friendly and prompt. At the same time, nothing is outstanding, and for a few dollars more you can definately get better. However, it is a good value for the cost of a meal, never-ending Chai is always nice, and being able to hear the person next to you over the restaurant noise is great.

The decor is OK, the service is good and the food is quite tasty for decent prices. However, this isn't outstanding, as U-District Indian restuarants go - it's pretty average. I'd say it has a slightly better lunch buffet and slightly friendlier service than the Tandoor, which is about two blocks away from it, but the atmosphere isn't as nice. The prices are good, and a dinner for two runs about $20 (lunch is about $12). This is a nice spot for a casual date.

For about the same price per meal you could go to University Teriyaki just down the road and get some great Teriyaki, still cheap. The food at Kiku's is okay and occasionally good, but the atmosphere is fast-food-like. With so many other cheap options in the neighborhood, there's no good reason to go here.
