Sweet sugar flowers (daisies, anyone?), googly eyes, golf ball-shaped molds for chocolate, gum paste cutters, and novelty muffin tin liners are amongst some of the items one discovers when perusing the crowded shelves at the Home Cake Decorating Supply. Chefs shop here, home bakers shop here, and budding pastry artists shop here. Their selection of food coloring alone is astounding (the rainbow of hues; the textures – gel, paste, powder), and that is just the tip of the icing.

Easy Street Records (two locations - Queen Anne and West Seattle) has an enormous selection. The Queen Anne store has a warehouse vibe, and after enough visits, the organization scheme will make sense (new CDs on the left, used CDs on the right, and specialty sections in the middle). Their selection of used CDs is gigantic, and the breadth of their collection is impressive. Their prices on new CDs are great, and they seem to keep the sale stickers on for a long time. My favorite part is their frequent buyers club - buy about 15 CDs and you'll get one free. The only drawback is the staff-- some of them are so passionate about their tastes that it feels like the customer is perhaps buying the "wrong" CD.

Knowing that I am buying from local musicians is a huge plus, and their selection is fantastic. Their prices, especially on sale items, are great, and they are always wiling to special order items, and their employees are gracious about the special orders (i.e. they don't act 'put out'). Service with a smile!

Their assortment of ribbon is astounding...after all, it's in its own room! It's a store where you will never see everything they have to offer, yet you won't feel too crowded, either. They carry everything from purse handles to buttons, enabling one to pick up all the supplies for a project Saturday morning and end the weekend with a new creation.
