While I love Crate and Barrel for the stylish items they carry including everything from kitchen items, to china to furniture, by far one of the best features of the store is their online catalogue and gift registry. The registry is one of the most user friendly to surf and create. Every item the store carries can be found through their registry system and each item often includes zoomable pictures of the item from several angles. You literally can feel like you are right in the store looking at the item. It is simple to search for items using key words or by going through their pre-selected categories. Items are then easily added, changed or deleted. In addition the site lets you know when items are low in stock.

Moca frequently is a place to find interesting and thought-provoking contemporary art. The work presented changes frequently enough to keep things interesting and exhibitions frequently demonstrate new and innovative experiments in art. One of the best things about the museum is the additional education, events and programs that accompany exhibits such as lectures, live music events, and the use of multimedia (video presentations, etc...) which helps the museum reach out to a broader array of people and generate interest.

Grand Poobas is the place is a haven for DJ's in Cleveland. The shop carries everything from house, to Dnb, to techno music, and the owner will also sometimes take requests for orders. It's a great place to find the pulse of the cleveland DJ community, to pick up event flyers, to get a few good records. You can find several of the city's DJ's working here so you know much of the inventory is selected with care and knowledge. Though a tiny shop there's much to be found here.

If your interested in finding out where some of the upcoming good shows are as well, it's the place to go and peruse event flyers and posters on the wall. In addition, there's a large inventory of CD's and other genres of music.

After searching through literally dozens of potential wedding reception locations I stumbled upon the Rockefeller Center at the Heights Rockefeller Building. The outside building is not extraordinary (basic tudor style) but the inside is highly unique. You walk up a flight of stone stairs with iron bars to immediately view a large fireplace. There's beautiful chandeliers and gothic stone arches as well as high ceilings which have stenciled designs.
There's some eclectic touches such as tapestries, a beautiful stained glass window, some unique paintings, and old bank vault and a zebras head (the zebra head could stand to go). If you're looking for something beyond the boring low-ceilinged plain banquet hall this is the place.

I love Blossom for the summer Cleveland Orchestra concert series. For three years running now we have gotten their ticket pack ($120 for ten tickets) which allows you to go to any concerts of your choice. You can bring ten friends and attend one, or bring a date and attend five. It's simply so relaxing to bring a big blanket, a picnic basket and a bottle of wine and lay out on the lwan and listen to our world-class orchestra. Frequently they have special events such as fireworks, wine-tastings, or movies on the big screen such as a star wars extravaganza, bugs bunny film festival, and a nasa presentation along with "The Planets"

Hollo's is a gold-mine for teacher looking to save some money. You can get pounds of paper including anything from cardstock to poster board, enevelopes to stationery for literally peanuts. There's bulletin board paper, borders, and other teaching materials. I've even seen boxes of great math manipulatives such as geoboards, unifix cubes and learning clocks. Beware however: While most of the paper products are very cheap and there are some good buys....there are some products such as highlighters, crayons and other materials that are highly overpriced.
This is also an excellent place to find wedding stationery and invitations far below the cost of retail.

Touch is still a kicking place since the re-opening. The vibe is similar...I love the eclectic crowds it draws of all races and persuasions. We recently went to a holiday kick-off party for their new menu and the food promises to be quite tasty; not just standard pizza and bar fare anymore. The drink selections are good, and relatively resonable. (Their lambic is $1 cheaper than any other bar I've seen it at) The music still is good with salsa night continuing, the nitty gritty monthly, random techno nights and a lot more.

While there was a bit of a mixup in the kitchen the evening we went and we ended up wating over an hour for our food I still would highly recommend this restaurant bar. The staff was extremely apologetic for the mixup and comped our drinks. The food was a bit beyond your standard bar food. There's a few more interesting selections on the menu and absolutely huge portions. They also have tasty fries and spicy pickles. The decor is much nicer than the outside hints at. There's frequently live irish music as well lending a nice bit of ambience to the place.

Cozumel is by far my favorite mexican restaurant in the Cleveland area. The food is close to authentic, the menu has plenty of variety including burritos, enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas and more. The prices are extremely reasonable. You can get an entire plate of rice, beans and at least three enchiladas for less than $7 and a pitcher of margaritas (rather strong margaritas!) for $10. The food is always cooked well and tasty (no burnt rice or overcooked beans here!). Especially nice is sitting out on their patio in summer with a group of friends.
