This place just opened about 3 months ago. I was lucky enough to run across it and the Vet, Dr. Lamb, at the Ballard Seafood Festival. I can honestly say I have never left a Vet's office with the overwhelming good feelings I had when leaving here. This place is top notch. The exam rooms have a big rug; you, the vet or technician and your pet sit on the floor. I love it! All the people here, especially the vet and owner Alycia Lamb, are fabulous. They are so nice, informative and patient (with my many questions). In addition, Dr. Lamb is doing some cool things with pets; they have, acupuncture and so much more. I would highly recommend them. I, honestly, couldn't be happier with finding such a great vet. I feel lucky!

We use Fiori floral arrangement at work. They are beautiful and not your typical floral arrangement. The arrangements are so creative. When the average arrangement won't due or you are looking for something special check them out. The arrangements are always changing. They have great vases. I've seen lemons and limes used in arrangements. They also wrap the stems with giant leaves. Each bouquet is a work of art.

We use Gourmondo at work for box lunches. They have the best lunches. They use bread from La Panier (the French bakery in Pike Place Market). Their lunches consist of a fabulous sandwich, side salad (with their own dressing - which is so good) and a brownie cupcake for dessert. They have many different choices from sandwiches, salad and wraps. I highly recommend them. They are consistently excellent and they use high quality meats, cheese and bread.

La Carta De Oaxaca, which no longer is the secret gem of Ballard, is fabulous and well known. It's a tiny restaurant but packs a big punch. They make the tortilla's and chips fresh. Most of the dishes are served a la cart. Which is fine as you can then try a few. I recommend starting out with the chips and guacamole, it's delicious! They also have a salsa bar you can help yourself to. There are approximately five to six different salsa's to choose from. I also highly recommend the carne asada. Definitely spicy but the best I've ever had. I crave these tacos. If you don't want to wait, plan on getting there before 6 pm. They also have a very small bar. Street parking.

Bick's is located in the Greenwood neighborhood. This a great, family-friendly spot. The food is great. The atmosphere if fun, casual and laid back. It's a neighborhood favorite and gets packed quickly. You should be able to get in before 6 with no problems. They don't accept reservations. And the parking lot consists of about 5 spots. But street parking is easy. Try the burger. It's solid as is the salad with crispy onion rings. Yum.

Reliable Mover is right - they aren't lying. I've used these movers three times and have referred them to just about everyone I know. You would not believe these guys are paid by the hour by the way they move - the are QUICK! I have never had anything broke or lost by them. Professional and great attitudes. Be good to your movers. After all, they are moving your stuff. I always get them bagels or scones. A must if you are moving.

While sushi on a conveyor belt doesn't sound all that appealing, you should check this place out. It's a blast! There are two spots; the original in Fremont and the newest in University Village. While I've been to both I prefer the one in University Village. They have the ingredients listed just under the plate. So you won't have any surprises. Here's how it works. The sushi goes around and you just pull off what you want. When you are done you stack your plates and press the button to call the wait staff. All the plates are color coded for price (the range is something from $1.25-$4). So it's very affordable and fresh. The chef is preparing it fresh in the middle as you eat. If you don't see what you want you can also order it. Also, make a stop in the bathroom. You will hear sounds of the Japan rail station and they have a neat hand dryer.

Pair is a fun little restaurant. It's fairly new and located just north of University Village. This is a perfect restaurant for those of you who like to share. The portions are small. Order 4-5 per couple. Even though the portions are small the food leaves nothing to be desired, except maybe more. The fondue is divine. The wait staff are very attentive and are very knowledgeable when it came to wine. In addition, when asked to recommend a bottle they didn't go to the most expensive bottle. I think that says a lot about an establishment. All in all a great, interactive experience.

Le Gourmand is located in sleepy Ballard neighborhood. It's a tiny house that has been converted into a restaurant. The cuisine is French but the owner, Bruce, uses what's locally in season; produce and fish. His wife makes the desserts which usually consist of ice cream or sorbets. This place is a perfect choice for a special occasion. The decor is like a scene out of a Mid Summer Night's Dream.

This is your typical greasy spoon diner (with out being greasy). Great spot, solid food. The best hashbrowns! Usually you can get right in. They only except cash, which is the only drawback....
This is your typical greasy spoon diner (with out being greasy). Great spot, solid food. The best hashbrowns! Usually you can get right in. They only except cash, which is the only drawback. However, it's also in a great neighborhood to walk off you breakfast. There are lots of cute shops around and the Farmer's Market on Sunday.
