I not really a wine expert or anything, but one weekend I wanted to plan something unique and fun for my girlfriend and I to do. I decided to take her out to nearby Woodinville and go on a wine tasting.
As I searched through the Internet trying to find a good place to go, I stumbled upon Chateau Ste Michelle and discovered that they offer a winery tour each day at 10:30 and 4:30.
The tour lasts about 40 minutes and you get to see how they make the wine and store it. Pretty fascinating stuff. At the end of the tour you have the opportunity to taste some different wines.
Good fun experience that is semi-romantic and free!

Medusa in Belltown was not all that great. The atmosphere was comfortable early on in the night, but as it got later it became so crowded that I could hardly move.
They do have two different dance floors, one for techno and one for hip hop, that was pretty cool, but the crowd is not very diverse.
Like all of Belltown it is over priced and full of people who like to flaunt their wealth. Luckily I came with a friend who got us in for free, otherwise this place is not worth the wait.

Summer is here and if you are looking for a great healthy option that can be taken home or on the road then Whole Foods is it. Not only do they offer high end grocery products, but they also have a terrific salad bar.
Each day the numerous options rotate to give a fresh choice of traditional salad goods and also hot bar options. I would highly recommend the spinach, red pepper, and smoked mozzarella pasta salad.
The cost is a little high at $6.99/lb, but if you can afford it, then I would give it a try.

I recently had lunch at Thai Ginger in Factoria. This restaurant is one of the best for Thai food in the area. With every meal you get a complimentary bowl of hot sour soup which is delicious. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the food is authentic. My favorite Thai food is Pad Thai and they definitely have one of the best around. This spot can be crowded sometimes as there are a ton of businesses around and a good lunch crowd. I would recommend getting there before the rush at 12. Fast service and great food!

House of Hong has a wide selection of treats at an affordable price. My personal favorites include the curry turnovers and the fried taro.
Atmosphere is very lively and loud. Plenty of room inside and it is not too difficult to get a table.
Parking can be hard to come by in the small lot that they have.

I work in Bellevue and joined the closest gym to my work...regrettably that happened to be Bally Total Fitness. At first I was excited to get back into the habit of exercising and being active again, but my experience at Bally's ended that excitement. Previously my workout spot was the newly remodeled IMA at UW. I admit that this facility cannot be matched by any other gym in the area and I may have been a little bit spoiled having been there.
I signed up with Bally's due to the proximity to work and the fact that I got an employee discount. The facilities at the Bellevue local were decent but many of the machines were old and worn out. They are not cleaned on a regular basis and many people who use the machines do not have the courtesy to wipe them down after they use them. Once I was doing bench press and the individual who worked out before left a big sweaty mess all over the bench. Needless to say I didn't really examine it before I laid down and soaked myself in their sweat. Gross! They also do not provide you with a towel, you have to bring your own. The locker room has a constant smell of mildew and you do not even want to look in the shower drain! I feel bad for the guy who has to clean it! The worst part about my experience there is the fact that I contracted a staph infection. After that happened I have not returned since and I am basically wasting money every month a gym that I will never go to again.
Hope you never have an experience like this!

One of my personal favorite things in life is eating. Quality is important, but so is quantity! Salty's on Alki is a great mixture of both on Sunday's. They have the best buffet in town featuring a mixture of seafood and the traditional breakfast goods. Visit on an empty stomach and with some loose fitting pants. My personal favorites were the Fisher scones that you can enjoy while waiting for your table and also the made to order goods. They have crepes, pasta, and custom omelets. Not to mention the seafood, this is where you can really get your money's worth. You name it they have it. Just be prepared to eat and block off a good portion of your day. After you walk away from Salty's you will be extremely satisfied, but too full to do anything!

If you are like me then the chore of making dinner after a long day at work is always a pain. You have the option of eating out or you can go to the store and pick up ingredients for a fresh cooked meal. The first alternative while quick leaves you searching your pockets at the end wondering why you just spent $10 on a meal that will clog your arteries. The other is a healthier choice, but can also be expensive and time consuming. Usually by the time I'm done shopping and cooking, it is time to go to bed already. How can I get a decent meal that tastes home cooked, but doesn't cost much and take up all my time? I have found a great alternative one day when I visited a Dinner's Ready store in Lake Forest Park. This place is based off of the hot new concept of ordering meals online, going to a location, and then spending a couple of hours to make your meals and take them home. It was quick, easy, and when the price was broken down it actually ended up being extremely cheap too. They offered a delicious rotation of 16 different meals a month in which you choose either 6 or 12. Some of the menu items included calzones, Greek flank steak, and barbecue bourbon pulled pork. Definitely worth trying out, I hear they have locations elsewhere too.

The Gyro-cery is just as good as its cleaver name. If you are looking for a late night snack after going to the bars this is the best place. Relatively inexpensive and extremely tasty. I would recommend getting the jumbo #9, which is the lamb/beef gyro and a side of hot fries. Talking about it right now makes me hungry...mmmmmmmm.

Cedars is hands down the best Indian food available in Seattle. Located in the heart of the U-District across from Safeway on 50th. When I was in college I would go there at least once a month. The only drawback to this place is that it can sometimes be crowded and hard to get a table. Don't bother with reservations because they almost never get you in any sooner. Possibly the worst at seating people in the order that they arrived. The owner is not that cool either. At times you feel like he is trying to rush you through your meal and I heard rumors that if you leave a tip the waiters never receive it...he keeps it himself. Despite all of these bad factors I would still strongly recommend going and getting some hot nan and curry. The food is good enough to outweigh the negatives. Get a take out order!
