I was invited to a wedding here, which I didn't really expect much, as I had been in the builiding years before and wasn't that impressed. But they have updated alot and now I think it looks more like a banquet hall than a civic assoc building - and they have very reasonable prices for catering. The food was quite good at the buffet style, although there was only one line, and it takes a long time for all the tables to be called up.
There is a gazebo outside, landscaping, nice light fixtures in the lobby, the facility has a "westwoods" sign on the front, as well as "italian american civic association" on the side of the brick face.
There is a bar. It is also available for meetings that are not catered, and I believe you can bring in your own food if you wanted to.
Catering starts at $25 per person

A bit out of the beaten path so to speak, this is a great resource Huge inventory of used and new, hardbacks and paperbacks, prints, and maps, some old, some odd. Searching through all these books is an amazing experience, you never know what you will find. I have found children's classics, the literary standards you need for high school and college, and the great reads.

Highly recommended: AAA emergency road service insurance. Their prices are reasonable and they are accomodating. I would recommend them as honest and hard working.

A very clean facility, which impress me especially in their gym. Someone is always walking around cleaning equipment. They have numerous treadmills, recumbent bikes, stairmasters, as well as some equipment that you usually don't see outside of the biggest gyms of rehabilitative centers. Gaylord has a small facility here.
There are numerous educational programs, Jewish history, dance, lectures, etc.
There is a pool, yoga, pilates, and a massage therapist.
There is a kosher cafe, with wonderful home made kettle fried potatoes that are just wonderful. They serve homemade soups and sandwiches, etc.
There is a day care and several activities, as well as a gift shop and Jewish literature related library

There is a concert series during the summer months.
There is a fee for parking (somewhere in the neighborhood of $6-10) or buy a season pass.

I am a firm believer in the value of community college. Despite my having a fancy pants degree from a more prestigious and expensive college, the only way I could afford to finish my degree at such a school was having taken 2 years at a community college. Many of your core classes, especially if you don't really care about required classes that are not part of your major, are available cheaper and at more convenient times within the CT community college system. Many of the teachers at the local more expensive colleges also teach the same classes at the community college - so you are literally getting the same education.
They take CLEP exams here for credit, which is great if you already have some field of knowledge (such as if you remember a course from high school).
I like the small environment, it is a good step for a student not ready to move to a dorm or for an older student who wants to return to school. There is a day care within the school.
I was looking for a certain class for my computer science major, and I thought Quinnipiac, a more expensive private school would have the updated computers and software, and it turns out the community college had better computer systems and the most current software.
Four year schools will take anywhere between 60 -90 credits from a community colleges, it varies by school.

One of the finest doctors I have ever encountered, truly concerned with patients and will spend as much time as needed to figure out what is going on. If a patient's problem is unusual, he will not abandon a patient, he will work with you until a solution is found. Treatment of the elderly for vision problems related to strokes, all ages for TBI, as well as treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, MS related vision problems to improve quality of life. If someone in your family has had a stroke or other neurological issue, their vision and balance issues might be able to be improved.
Of special note is the visual needs of children, especially those with ADD and ADHD, as often LD's can be helped with attention to vision. There is more information on their website: http://www.padulainstitute.com
Treatment of autistic vision issues. The doctor is such a gentlemen and so kind that everyone feels at ease around him, and frequently those who will not open up to any other doctor will feel comfortable here.
The staff is friendly, there is a large selection of beautiful eyeglass frames in the eyeglasses shop. There are those with severe vision problems, and those who are just have regular vision needs.
Within the Rehabilitation building is Gaylord, Arm Dynamics, a top reading specialist, and several other rehabilitative groups that offer complimentary services.

Captain's Galley, across from the Beach, is able to serve great beef dishes, and seafood, and Italian - I find it rare that a restaurant can do all three well.
There are amazing specials - a HUGE filet mignon - it looks like a small roast, with salad, veggie and starch, bread basket, etc. for super cheap and it is amazingly good. Easily something that could feed two people - you will definately have leftovers. Some of their pasta seafood items seem steep in price in comparision to the beef entrees
The problem is their is a very long wait and not much space in the bar to wait. So you either wait outside, which is OK in the summer (although the bar service is slow and appetizers are not available while you wait as of the last time I was there, which was an hour wait). You can go walk the beach, but it is hard to know when your turn will come up. I would recommend going at lunch time, it is cheaper and not as busy.
