This is a nice photo equipment store located in lower Manhattan. Prices are a bit more expensive than the more popular B & H, but unless you're willing to spend an extra 30 minute train ride and fare, then I recommend you stay put. They carry just about everything related to photography from 35mm films to photo enlargers. Their staff on hand is knowledgeable and friendly. The store itself is quite small but they manage to fill it with all the necessary items. This is strictly an equipments store so if you need to develop film, just take a stroll outside you;re sure to find many as this is the so-called photo district.
During the day you'll notice atlot of students here as Parsons is just blocks away.
Like B & H, Adorama is closed on Saturdays. Check their schedule as I believe store hours are short. Street parking only, if it can be found.
Convenient to N train and Union Square.

For about $18 you can get your car hand washed and interior cleaned and vacuumed. They do an excellent job and the lines aren’t long, except after rainy days. The great thing about this is that it’s on a very accessible area of town and convenient to highways and the GWB, for those of you who wish to wash your car before or after work.
They have discounted rates on Thursdays or Tuesdays, though I can’t remember when, you should check before you go. And if you’re a bit short on cash, there’s a Citibank conveniently located next door.

If you need jeans, this is the place to look. They have a large selection and inventory of it. All sizes, colors and styles you’ll find here. They also sell other clothing apparel like shirts and jackets but I guess the main focus and what made them popular are their jeans.
I usually don’t like this shop here often as its kind of overrated and the workers aren’t so nice But when I’m in the need for a new pair of jeans this would be the first place I looked. Though you most likely won’t be able to find the high priced designers here, it’s still a good place to start.

This is a great place to patch and plug your deflated tires. It’s only a garage with a few jacks but that’s all they need. A patch will cost about $7 and plug roughly $5. The work is quick, which is great to get you on with the rest of your day. The cost to install and remove tires is about $15 per wheel; (mounting and balancing included) however; it can be had for $50 if you do all four. They also have a few used tires for purchase which I don’t recommend. It’s always best to have brand new tires as it’s the most important item on your car. You’d want something good because this is the only part that makes contact to the road.

I prefer this pharmacy over any CVS or Duane Reade. They are pretty fast to refill prescriptions usually only needing to wait 10 to 15 minutes, unlike other places. I don’t know why but it takes CVS days to count out 30 pills. Do they do it on purpose? Do they think its fun to make people wait? I don’t know but its really annoying.
The pharmacists here are very informative and give you detailed instruction on and about your medications. They also have a delivery service where you can have your medications delivered which I find extremely convenient.
They also sell over the counter items and strangely enough, they have a rather good birthday card section.

I’m astonished at the fact that this place is still around. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, it’s just the fact that a super mega Borders, Books and Music had recently opened directly across the street. I would have just assumed that they would have lost all their business by now. Luckily they haven’t and I know why.
This is a great place that carries tons of magazines, magazines that aren’t available at the mega Borders, Books and Music across the way. They have so many titles that I can’t even recall. They also sell lots of phone cards, candies, bottled beverages and a variation of lottery games. This isn’t a place for you to pick up a book, chill and read it, the owners will surly say something to you. And it’s also quite small, only 4 aisle of stuff, but those aisle are jam packed.
So if you’re looking for that hard to find magazine, make a stop here, they’re sure to carry it.

This is a local hardware store that has survived the pressures of the ever so huge corporate giant Home Depot taking over the world. Like the name implies, this is a small town hardware store that generally caters to the few surrounding towns. You can find typical items on hand such as door locks, nuts & bolts, and light bulbs. They also refill fire extinguishers and duplicate keys here. Their prices are a bit higher then the corporate giants but that’s the consequence you have to pay for not taking a 20 mile drive to the closest Home Depot.
I don’t know how they are still in business but it’s good to see a family run business like this in every town. The owners are extremely nice and will chat up just about anyone who’s willing to lend an ear.

J & R is huge electronics store located in lower Manhattan. They carry everything from home telephones to computers & laptops, to high end home audio video equipment. Even if you’re not looking to purchase, it’s a great place to browse. You’ll find a lot of those during lunch hour as it’s located in busy downtown.
J & R occupies a few separate buildings on one city block with each department separated from one another. Their staff is knowledgeable and eager to assist with any questions. Their prices are very competitive and I believe they also price match as well. The return policy is great. I remember I had no problems with returning my $700 digital camera even after 30 days.
If you live out of state you can save on taxes by having them ship to your home.

This is a quaint little art supply store that carries most popular materials. It’s quite small and compact but the ambience is terrific. You get the sense of how art stores really should be especially with all those mega Pearl Paints popping up. The staff are helpful in locating stuff for you, however, the majority of times they won’t have what you’re looking for, especially if it’s something out of the ordinary. They do special order, which is great but sometimes you need things right away.
Great place to check out, but if you really need something I suggest you go to Pearl Paint.

This is a great place to purchase tennis apparel. They carry a wide variety of brands and styles. The store itself is small and not very organized but their prices are cheap. A tennis shirt will run you about $20; and usually its the older seasons stuff, I guess that’s why it’s called an outlet. They also sell rackets, tennis balls, hats and sneakers.
I usually frequented this place to get my Fred Perrys’ but unfortunately, they no longer carry that brand. Sadly, I have since stopped shopping there, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great bargain store.
The place is easy to spot with its bright yellow awning. You can't miss it. Parking on premises.
