This store has three or four locations with about the same stuff and staff in each of them. Very hip items with a pricetag to match. If you want to deck your tree with a variety of spendy, quirky ornaments you have found your personal heaven. They have a decent selection of jewelry...mostly necklaces and earrings. Stationery and notions are popular too. Neat kitchen gadgets and paraphernalia. Kid stuff is cool, but pretty expensive when you consider that kids can entertain themselves with a .50 cent block of wood and will probably wreck it.

Get your nuts here. They have bins and bins of fresh refridgerated nuts from which to select...salted and unsalted varities alike. They also have a fabu selection of dried fruits and the like for snack foods...organic and otherwise. They also have a whole wall of bulk grains, noodles, etc....very impressive selection. The fresh vegetable selection leaves something to be desired...though there are good vegetables, there is not a lot of room for a wide variety. They now take credit cards as well.

The family that runs this place is great. They have a buffet option that is cheap and good....but don't plan on leaving with any leftovers. The family menu is awesome...just pick a soup, entree and egg roll all for under $10 per person (must have two people picking from the menu). They do special occasions as well and have a little dance floor just for the occasion. Highly recommend.

This place is in one of the coolest public buildings in town. You can even rent the place for gala events. The Minnesota A-Z exhibit is especailly interesting and has stuff from the odd corners of Minnesota history and pop culture (what there is of that in Minnesota). I especially like the outfit they have on display of Prince's from his Purple Rain days. There is an ok museum store, but it's not a main attraction.

This building is just fun to be in...art or no. Free for the general collection. The priced special exhibits are usually great and (i think) they are free one night a week. There are usually local artists about doing mock-ups of the real thing...very Louvre like. Nice amount of sculpture and furniture items. The egyptian stuff is awesome. I try to go at least once a year just to remind myself that museums can be that good.

Get just about any random food import grocery item you can think of and more! Unless it's Sunday, you can fill all your obscure ingredient needs in one quick trip. Never seen so many kinds of fresh feta. Bone up on your willingness to buy items without knowing exactly what they are as there are many products without a lick of english on them....it's like a cracker jack box that way! I stop by Bill's every time I go near that area of town just to see what crazy stuff they've got now. Oh, the bulk olive oil selection is unbelievable.

This place has the finest selection and quality of amber in the Twin Cities. Two locations in Minneapolis. Owner is so knowledgeable about his products and artists that you feel like you are really part of supporting the production of fine arts. They sell fine jewelry, religious icons, traditional Polish pottery, and many other eastern european collectibles. I can't stop from stopping in once every few months for new treasures.

It is rumored that the interior of this place was built in Ireland and then shipped here...whether true or not this place has a great atmosphere, decor and friendly staff to boot. They just built a new patio that is packed even on a Tuesday evening and has a decent view of the river valley and downtown Saint Paul. The rueben sandwich is to die for. Standard irish brew on tap at all times. Parking sucks...it's kitty corner from the excel center.

This place is huge, but well organized. You can buy tickets on the internet in advance and they are quick on the uptake with getting them for you. There are so many theaters that they have a LCD display with notices about checking in for your movie that are easy to understand...just beware the line cutters who hawk the entrances and jump in line. The theater seats are all arranged like stadium seating and are spacious, foot room is ample. You can even retract the arm rest for couch like seating. Clean as a whistle and good sound systems.

it is cheaper for two people to go to a movie here than renting at your local rental joint, but you'll pay for it in strange smells, obstructed views of the screen (pop stains), and mystery materials on your seat. One time at the end of a movie the lights came on and my companion and I made audible gasps of horror at what on the seat we had so recently placed our clean pants. However, get out your grunge attire, bring some smelling salts and put your sunglasses on at the first sign of light and it's a pleasantly cheap date!
