The New York Mets are a fun team to watch. Nobody expects them to win like the Yankees, so you can just cheer and hope for the best. Shea Stadium is more laid back and more fun to watch a game at than Yankee Stadium and the fans are nicer. The stadium is old and planes fly overhead alot, but its all part of the charm. The tickets in the upper deck are relatively cheap. Mr. Met is the team mascot and is a great sport! So skip Yankee Stadium and show up at Shea!

Their performances are cleverly acted out in the open around the pond between 100th and 103rd streets. The calibre of the acting found here is very high - these are professional actors, despite the shows being free. The shows are usually, but not exclusively, Shakespeare. At the end of the performance, the audience is asked for voluntary donations.

Rye Playland is a fun place to take the family. It is an old-fashioned amusement park like what Coney Island used to be and what parts of the Jersey Shore still are like. They have a classic wooden roller coaster called the Dragon. Hard-core amusement park enthusiasts probably won't find this to be a very exciting park, but it's fine for young kids. A word to the wise: Never send your kids on the rides here unattended. A child just drowned here on an aging water ride. Everything will be okay here if you just follow common sense and accompany small children on rides.

The Lasker Pool is a little-known area in Central Park right next to Harlem Meer at the very north tip of the park. What's great about it is that you can swim here for free all summer long. The only thing you need to know is that they don't allow newspapers (it would scatter I guess) and you have to lock up your valuables in lockers, so bring a lock. But if you come with a towel, shower shoes and swimming gear, this place is perfect for a hot summer's day. Convenient to both the Upper West and Upper East sides.

All I ask from an auto repair shop is that they are trustworthy, experienced and affordable. Gabe's Automotive is all three. I have repeatedly trusted Gabe's with fixing my car and I would not take my car to anyplace else in Binghamton. Gabe's is as trustworthy as Cooter on the Dukes of Hazzard. That may sound like a joke, but believe me, it's a compliment!
