I liked the people over at Happy Paws. I know people who have brought their dogs in here to get groomed and I’ve heard very positive things about the place. They’ve only been open for about a year or maybe a little longer, so their facilities and equipment are still pretty new. Appears to be a good business.

Win Restaurant Supplies provides equipment for restaurants, such as ovens, fryers and things of that nature. Their prices are fairly competitive and the sales associates are pretty knowledgeable about their stuff. Though one could probably do a little better in terms of price, this is the best store in the neighborhood for restaurant supplies.

The Bleecker Street Bar is a fantastic bar in the Lower East Side. It has the atmosphere you’d expect from any good bar: good for watching the game with friends and good for getting hammered. There crowd that visits here is pretty good on the whole, not too many self righteous New Yorkers; mostly your average Joes. Great place

Buffa’s is the best breakfast place on the Lower East Side and, perhaps, in all of New York City. This place has something that is lacking in many other places today and that is character. There are few places with the history in their respective neighborhoods. The owner, John, is a great guy, but is hard on any poor guy who tries to get cute when ordering. The food is great and so is the service.

Two Boot’s is the epitome of screwing around with pizza. While some of their creativity is nice and some of their pizza may actually be ingestible, no one should ever put peanut butter on their pizza for crissakes. This place took a slice of pizza and threw it in the fridge and whatever stuck to it, they made a pizza out of it. If you’re a yuppie, you’ll love it. If you have any reverence for pizza, you’ll stay away.

Pomodoro’s is a lot like Ray’s Pizza in many senses in that it generally sticks to traditional pizza, but it nevertheless tries to make itself more trendy than it probably should. Their pizza is pretty good, but the atmosphere there is too modern for my liking and I may generally just stay away.

Lombardi’s Pizzeria on Spring St is by far the best pizza you will ever have in your life. Apparently, everyone else agrees with me because in every ranking that I have seen, this pizzeria is ranked as the best in New York City and the world as well. If you’ve never had pizza from here, you’re depriving yourself. Only complaints are that they don’t sell by the slice.

Ray’s Pizzeria has been a staple of quality pizza establishments in the Little Italy / SoHo area for decades now. Though the pizza there is described by some as being generic, that’s part of what’s so good about it. There’s no frills here: just a bunch of personable Italians making pizza without feeling the pressure to have to tinker with a tried and true formula for the sake of being different. They differentiate themselves through their consistency and the fact that you can always expect quality pizza.
