If you're due for a day of pampering, sign up for a spa package at the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland. I was recently treated to a 4 1/2 hour experience, including manicure, pedicure, facial, massage and lunch. Between treatments, I lay in the relaxation room, full of couches, running fountains, soft music, herbal teas. I seriously needed a wheelchair to get from one treatment to another - so incredibly relaxing. Do this for yourself! It's worth it!

Our dining experiences at Wild Ginger have been very inconsistent. An enormous restaurant with possibly over 20 cooks on any given night, it's not surprising. We've had meals there where the food was so succulent that the entire table came to a dead silence while people focused on food. Then we've had meals where the same favorite dishes were really just okay - not acceptable for such a high dollar dinner.

We ate at El Sombrero several months ago when it first opened, and we were extremely pleased. Finally, an affordable, tasty, attractive, kid-friendly Mexican restaurant had found it's way into Columbia City. Unfortunately, we've dined there twice recently and both times have not been as good. We would say the food is now okay - a disappointment since originally it was excellent. The great service, kid-friendly atmosphere, proximity to home and affordability will keep us going back to El Sombrero, but with a little less enthusiasm.

After 2 disappointing OB experiences for my first pregnancy, I was anxious to follow a friend's recommendation and visit Dr. Johannsen for my second. I couldn't be more pleased with her and all of the staff at Northwest Women's Healthcare. They are extremely attentive, thorough,warm, friendly, knowledgable, and down-to-earth. You may have to wait for your appointments, but this is only because they do not rush their patients.
