Evans pool offers very average swim classes for infants/toddlers. The teachers are sweet and obviously qualified, but don't necessarily have experience with children. The songs sung are the usual tunes...a little variety would be nice.
There is one change table in the women's changing room, so you are likely to change your child on the cold wet floor or on a bench. There is one family bathroom inside the pool itself.

This pool leaves a lot to be desired. The water is too cold for most babies, it smells strongly of chlorine, and there are few amenities for changing babies' diapers. As for the swim classes, they fall into the "average" category. Is it too much to ask for someone to sing a song other than "Tugboat, tugboat, move to fast...tugboat, tugboat move to slow..." or wheels on the bus? Many of the Seattle swim classes we've tried need a boost. A little originality and a more varied song list would be a huge improvement.

Even when it was a hole in the wall I loved Jai Thai because it had such tasty fare. And now that it is atmospheric to boot...what more can you ask for? And the price is very reasonable. Lots of options for vegetarians, you can add steamed or fried tofu to most dishes. They can also spice the food up or down to your taste.

This gym is sleek, modern, clean, and very "cool". Exactly the sort of gym I would escape to if I had a cheap babysitter to leave the kids with at home. Unfortunately, this gym has NO child minding at all, so bringing them with you isn't an option. Towels are 50 cents, and bring your own lock.

I think every pregnant woman should visit Birth and Beyond. It is a small store packed with products targeted mostly at the "attachment parenting" set. They have many products to support breastfeeding including nipple shields, nipple shells, nursing bras, boppies, gel packs, etc. They also carry some sweet gift items like knitted hats and soft toys.

For a stay at home parent, the zoo is a dream. Combine membership to the zoo with a membership to the aquarium for just over $100 and you'll have somewhere to drag your kids to in all kinds of weather. There is a petting zoo for toddlers in the family farm area, and lots of opportunity for education. Pony rides and a butterfly exhibit are popular with toddlers in the summertime, too. For rainy day zoo visits, pick up their special map that will take you to the drier exhibits in the zoo. The entire zoo is stroller friendly, but if you can throw your child in a backpack they will have a much better view.
NB - the elephants have their bath at about 10 am!
Also - free parking is abundant in the nearby neighbourhoods, or you can pay for parking onsite.

Here are some things you should know. This place is TINY and very intimate - which is to say, you may get to know your fellow gourmands INTIMATELY because it is hard NOT to know what is going on at every other table in here. It is a great place to meet other couples because of the close quarters. Toddlers? Leave them at home. Babies? You can get away with a baby in a Bjorn, but don't expect high chairs or room to nurse. Can you just pop in for a glass of wine or a coffee? Definitely. But you would miss out on some fabulous food.

As far as I'm concerned, Victrola has some of the best barristas in Seattle. Their lattes are divine. The sandwiches, made on Panzanella's bread, are also delicious.
