DeLaurenti's has been a fixture at the Public Market in downtown Seattle for as long as I can remember. Located at 1435 1st Avenue, it is the first store to the south of the Public Market sign actually on First Avenue. Inside you'll find lots of very tall shelves crammed together and filled with imported canned, boxed or jarred foods. They have a cheese section inthe deli area that is unrivaled in Seattle. It isn't a market experience without going to DeLaurenti's.

Cooper Builders located on Queen Anne have been in the vinyl siding business for many years and have more than one page of reccomdations from happy customers, and I am one of them! In this climate, wood siding is very hard to maintain, which is why I went to vinyl. I chose Cooper Builders based on a reccomendation by a friend in the buildng industry. I wasn't dissapointed. They garauntee their work and do a very nice job. My home has been much warmer in winter and cooler in summer, thanks to Cooper Builders.

Ravenna Gardens located on the top of Queen Anne hill on Queen Anne Avenue. They carry seasonal outdoor plants as well as exctic indoor plants. They have everything needed to garden or enjoy the garden. The sales staff is always friendly and knowlegable. They carry a wonderful selection of herbs and vegtable starts in the spring and always have a few interesting pumpkins and gords in the fall.

Elliott Bay Animal Hospital is located on 15th NW at the bottom of the west side of Queen Anne hill. They have some of the finest vets dedicated to keeping your pet healthy and happy with preventative medicine. They always send out reminders when shots or check ups are due. They are excellent with handling the animals and take measures to minimize the stress of your pet going to the vet.

Pacific Food Importers is a place to find hard to find foods from other countries.It is located on the edge of the International District, not far from I.N.S. at 2323 Airport Way South. If it's canned jarred or boxed, they probably have it. They also have a frozen section and a wonderful bulk spice section where they have many hard to find spices. They have a deli section with meats, cheeses and several varieties of olives. If you want brine with your olives, bring your own container. Their cheese selctions are very good as well. i don't really do sausages and salamis, but they did have a respectable supply of those as well.

Communique is where I go to get all of my cards.It's hard to find a place that carries exactly what you need in a card for whatever occaision it is, but Communique has never let me down. I can always find exactly what I need. And if I need a gift as well, there's always something that will fit the bill at Communique. As for wrapping needs, they are superior. I have found some of the most unique wrapping paper and stickers to fill my gifting needs.

Queen Anne Mail and Dispatch, located at 2212 Queen Anne Avenue North, was originally located onthe other end of Queen Anne Avenue, closer to the counter balance. It was a much smaller store front, but was pretty much the same idea, a gift shop and postal service in one location. Now located in a much larger store front at the northern end of Queen Anne Avenue, the gift section of the Mail and Dispatch has grown to include designer clothes and shoes in addition to gift and jewerly selections. The idea is great. You need to mail a gift. Voila, you pick it out and mail it all in one stop. Then of course if you see some shoes or a nice skirt for yourself, well..... all the better!

Dr. Zeeny Teja is an orthodontist located on Queen Anne hill at 1955 6th Avenue West. She is excellent with children and adults. As an active Queen Anne community member, she has sposored a little league team. I met Dr. Teja at a little league function where I was impressed with her philosophies on the treatment of children in regards to orthodontia. I wouldn't hesitate to take my children to her if they needed such work.

The Fountainhead, located at 625 W McGraw Street, has some of finest exhibits of local artists. The art for sale varies greatly, from paint on canvas to three dimensional sculptures. Some of the materials that the artists use that they show are unique. One artist featured a while back made baskets and woven sculptures form types of seaweed or kelp. They have one opening a month featuring a new artist.
