This is one of my most beloved restaurants in the world. It is family owned and operated and they serve the most delicious fresh Nepalese food. I don't know much about authentic or not, but it's so tasty and there's plenty of vegetarian and meat options for everybody. I reccomend a mixture of the mango and cinnamon lassi with every meal there. The portions are big and you usually walk away with tasty left overs.

Steve Herrell was I believe, the inventor of the smoosh-in ice cream creation, whereby your friendly Herrell's scooper will graciously take a smattering of your favorite ice cream toppings and meticulously smoosh them into your chosen number and flavor of scoops ultimately creatiing your very own evenly blended, personalized dairy (or non-dairy if you've ordered the "no-moo") decadence. Yum. There's a reason people line up out the door for a taste.

This shop has just about everything you might need in order to incorporate more lids into your style. They'll even measure your noggin for you and seel you a fine leather jacket or belt in the meantime.

The thing I love about Dusty Strings is their hands-on poilcy that you can pick up and play just about any of the beautiful instruments that they have for sale as long as you take off any zippers you might have on that could scratch them. They offer great music workshops and the folks that work there are excellent and knowledgeable resources.

This is a great little neighborhood store with a surprizingly large collection of supplies for all kinds of arts and crafts projects. They seem to have everything from oil paints to nice paper to silkscreening supplies. Maybe a bit on the pricey side but it's nice that to shop at an art store that's not a big chain. Sometimes theres a really friendly dog there too.

Sometimes a bit kitchy and heavy the chachkeys (spelling?) but they've got a nice music section and you can listen to samples of most things before you buy them. They've got a pretty diverse selection of books for all ages. Also they have great seasonal sales, and the kosher deli next door makes tasty rugelach and other treats.

You get a lot of macho attitude i think just about any bike shop you walk into, but as far at these guys go, it's pretty tolerable and somerimes even downright friendly. i even saw a female mechanic working there once. Also one time they attached a light wrong to the back of my rack and when it got all mangled in my wheel, they replaced it free. nice. they have a good newsletter too, with coupons and info about products and classes that they offer.
