I am the first one to admit that I truly dislike wedding shops. When I was planning my wedding I was dreading the dress shopping. I don't like frills, poofy, or bows. A friend suggested Traditions. I stepped in and was unamused with my friend. It was beautiful and cozy, but to me definitely looked like the cliche wedding dress shop. However, immediately I was greeted by a warm, yet not overbearing saleswoman who took time to listen to my likes and dislikes, and quickly picked up on my aversion to shops like the one I was currently standing in! She picked out three dresses for me. They were all lovely, but one was perfect. I loved it. It was simple, yet elegant, exactly what I was looking for. They also did the alterations, which were done expertly. I have since sent many friends there and they too have been completely enamored with their experience.

Mad Hatter's originally started as a bakery, and then slowly started offering more food items, and then moved to a bigger place. The real food (non-baked goods) section has a fairly extensive menu, it is slightly expensive and good, but not the best around for the price. Thier baked goods however are wonderful! The cakes are especially tasty and they do custom work for special occasions as well. Stop in for some coffee or tea and a baked good and try it out!

Maple View Dairy is phenomenal on multiple levels. Their milk products sold throughout the triangle are the best out there. Their newly opened store in Carrboro is a wonderful addition. But their crowning achievement is the original ice cream store. The ice cream is delectable, and is only enhanced by the front porch lined with rocking chairs that look out over the farmland. So come out and enjoy a beautiful sunset with wonderful ice cream.

There are two Elmos, one in Durham, and one in Chapel HIll and both are equally good. This is a very family friendly restaurant, with very fast service. It is truly the diner experience, without any hokiness. The food is very good, and breakfast is served all day. There is sit down dining as well as a lunch counter. There can be a little bit of a wait during the lunch hour so try to hit it on either side of the noon rush.

I am a self-admitted grocery snob. I always want the best product, but at the lowest price. For best products I went to Harris Teeter, for best price with fine products I went to Food Lion. I finally went to Target the other day without high expectations and was pleasantly surprised! I found my best product at the lowest price. They carry wonderful produce (the locally grown corn was excellent days after purchase), hormone and antibiotic free meats, and the best selection of pretty much all the other products I needed. Thier beer and wine selection is more than adequate and the prices are lower than any grocery store around. Throw out any preconceived ideas you have about "Super Groceries" and give it a try.

You want em they got em. big screens in this bar to watch your favorite team win at the buzzer. While watching the drama unfold feast on many varieties of piping hot wings sold 6 to 100 at a time. Not many varieties of beer. and if their aren't one hundred people in the room then the restaurant is freezing but if you and a group of friends want some good wings, to watch the game, and get a little tipsy on mediocre beer then this is the place.

The place to go if you want have a beer and watch a game. If you have asthma this is not the locale you want to visit, cigarettes and cigars are almost required to get in the door but even us non smokers are more than welcome. Go there more than two or three times and you will recognize almost all the faces and they will know you and start to put your team on one of their many screens. Root loudly for any team you want except UNC, really a Duke place but will tolerate some Raleigh teams if you are quiet.

Blue Corn is the place to go! Located conveniently on 9th st. in Durham, it is the place to go for a wonderful lunch or laid back dinner. Its Latin American Cuisine is the best around. The service is great, the food is wonderful, and the price is not too high. There are some tables outside as well so it is a wonderful place to go on a nice fall day.

A locally owned and operated italian restaurant, in the wonderful atmosphere of West Village. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. They have a main dining room that is elegantly, but simply decorated, a room off to the side that can be used for private parties, and a full bar. For a lovely evening out try Tosca for delicious food that is reasonably priced.
