My friends and I sat for over an hour (really) waiting for four dishes on a night that the restaurant was not even busy. The waitresses were trying to ignore us because they knew we had been waiting for a ridiculous amount of time. At the one hour mark I had to go ask the manager, who was up front making sure all the take-out orders went out, what was going on. He never apologized or even attempted to act in a polite way. The food was pretty good when we finally got it, but maybe that was caused by the ravenous hunger I developed during the wait. I left the restaurant angry.

The Italian Pie Shoppe is easily my favorite pizza place in the twin cities. This isn’t a shop that makes its money with gimmics and gourmet pizza. They cook real pizza very well. Thin crust, deep dish, and stuffed. I haven’t found another place since moving to the twin cities that makes stuffed pizza this good—it’s definitely worth the wait. Also, the thin crust pizza has a very tasty sauce. In a region starved for really good pizza, the Italian Pie Shoppe does it well!

The Highland Grill is an upscale diner. I have only gone for breakfast, but that is enough to keep me coming back. I’m a really big fan of meat, and though it is by no means a vegetarian joint, the breakfast menu is a bit sparse on it. But, due to the great taste, this is one of the few places that I can happily order a meal without meat. Not particularly cheap, but definitely worth trying.

I love this restaurant. It is a small place, run by a husband and wife. They are always friendly and cook awesome food. Turkish food is always delicious, but the food here always seems a little bit more delicious than at other places. All the ingredients are very fresh, the tomatoes are ripe, and everything just seems perfect. It’s an inexpensive restaurant with great food.

Sakura is a pretty good place to eat Japanese food. Their sushi is so-so, but on par with most other restaurants in the cities. The tempura there is quite good, and I think it is somewhat of their specialty. If you are going with several people, a sure-fire good time is to arrange to eat shabu-shabu (it might be a good idea to request this when making your reservation).
