Great, inexpensive walk away food in Pike Place Market. I had a pork hombow and it was really good, and at only 2.25 a good cheap lunch when added with the peach I bought from the vendor down the way. There is nowhere to sit down, but there are benches and seats throughout the market.

This winery is my favorite of the big wineries in Woodinville. The grounds are beautiful, the tour is pretty fun and has a free tasting at the end, and there is a really nice wine/gift shop. You can also have a tasting in the shop for a small fee; I think it was $5 for four pours. The shop has picnic type foods in it as well as a great selection of wine, and so you can also have a picnic right on the grounds. Sometimes they have concerts there as well. It's definitely a good place to take guests or to visit if you are a guest in Seattle.

This is a really nice place to go for a walk, learn a little bit of Seattle Japanese-American history, and see different types of gardens, including a traditional Japanese garden. One great bonus: it's free because it is a part of the Seattle parks service. Most of it is pretty flat and would be a good walk even for children or people with low mobility.

We went to this vineyard on a Sunday afternoon and the owner gave us a free tour of his vineyard and talked a lot about winemaking. It was really interesting to see a locally owned business at work, and the wine is really good as well. Most bottles were between 10-20 dollars. It's always nice to see the person who makes your food and wine, and this was a really nice experience. If you are taking the ferry, definitely drive on, because the vineyard is far from the ferry dock.

One great feature is the wall of nontraditional action figures like the Librarian action figure and an Edgar Allan Poe, among other famous and iconic characters. Or you might just need a rubber eyeball or something.

There is not a lot open after 9-10 pm in Federal Way, but Billy McHale's has a bar side that has drink and food specials after 9 p.m. The food is pretty standard (except the nachos, which are fantastic) and the ambience leaves a little to be desired unless you are really nostalgic for your high school days during the 80's (I'm not) or you really like generic cigarettes (I don't), but if you want something to eat/drink at a late hour, this is the place to go.

This is a non-profit art house theater staffed partially by volunteers in downtown Tacoma. The ticket and concession prices are a little cheaper than commercial movie theaters, and the selection usually includes movies you can't find anywhere else in the Tacoma area. Sometimes they have midnight movies or special events, like a special run of Hitchcock movies.

We saw two shows there last year: the Santaland Diaries and Three Tall Women. Both shows were somewhat flawed but pretty entertaining, and at the $20 ticket price and with intimate seating, it's a nice little place to see a play. It's right by Green Lake so it's possible to take a little walk during the intermission or before the play.
