Although this store is absolutely stuffed with mechandise, it is easy to navigate and I guarentee you will lose track of time. There is so much to look at and if you are like me, you will want it all. Or have a friend that needs to have it all. Great for buying gifts or a special treat for yourself.

I first encountered this store at a Crave event. They had such cute and affordable things at that event, that I decided to check out the store. I could browse for hours here. They have so many fun things to look at. Everything is beautiful and the layout of the store is very inviting. And the mail dispatch behind the counter is absolutely charming.

I had read about Les Cadeaux Gourmets in several magazines so I finally decided to check it out. I found this store to be very pretensious and snooty. The salesperson didn't even greet me, although there was no one else in the store. The layout is more museum than store. While beautiful, it doesn't invite touching or buying.

There is something much more appealing and sophisiticated about buying Cosmopolitian and In Touch magazines at Fremont News versus the grocery store. Somehow it just seems more legitimate. I love a newsstand with a great selection. You never know what new magazines you might find. If you head to Fremont News, I hope you will find my new favorite magazine, Seattle, and pick up a copy.

I never really get past the front of this Broadway store because I am so easily draw into the shoe displays at the front. Great shoes at great prices. They have trendy shoes that you don't feel guilty about buying. The prices are so good that when they go out of style, you can always go back for more. This store also has a great selection of hip and trendy mens' and womens' clothes.

The mark of a good bookstore, in my mind, is a place where the employees actually read books. I was blown away during the short time I spent browsing this store how many times the staff were able to recommend great books on a variety of topics. I read a lot and they were recommending the same books I would. Even if you are looking for a recommendation, go to this bookstore to support their great service.

I am not a cat person, but I love books so I was willing to give this used bookstore a try. But honestly the cats, cat smell, and cat hair where way too distracting to enjoy browsing the books. I will give them credit for the inventive locations of the cat boxes. On top of the cats, my visit was ruined by the incredible rude owner/manager (?) who was berating her employees. I won't be back to this bookstore any time soon.

Elliott Bay Book Co is a great bookstore for browsing and wasting away a rainy Seattle day. They offer a wide selection of books, both current bestsellers and some more random offerings. And when you get tired of browsing the books, head downstairs for some great eats. No sure what the cafe is called, but they have a yummy selection of vegan and vegetarian eats.

The Guild 45th in the Wallingford neighborhood is like the anti-Cineplex. There are 2 screens located through seperate entrances. The seats are nothing like the cushy ones you find in bigger theaters. But the Guild runs great movies and is worth a visit. My only complaint is that the seats are so close together that during a recent sold-out show, I felt like I was getting the plague from a gentleman coughing directly into my ear.

In my mind, there are very few reasons to ever go to Tacoma, but the Museum of Glass is definitely worth the drive. The exhibits are inventive and unique. The Chihuly Glass Bridge is amazing and worth the trip alone. I also really enjoy the glass blowing studio where you can see art come to life. I would recommend this museum for kids 8 years old and up.
