I came here to start a Polk Street pub crawl. Nice, cozy, intimate feeling bar, with a decent selection of drinks. Never felt like it got too crowded, so if you're into pressing the flesh, stay away. But if you're looking for a nice place to chill with your friends, Tonic is the place.
Conveniently located near mutliple bars, so great for a night of bar-hopping.

For your money, you wont' get any better deal on Korean-style noodles than here at Zazang. You can easily get out of here for less than $6 per person, including tax/tip.
They have a limited menu (a few types of noodles, potstickers, a few rice plates), so hopefully you come here already knowing what you want.
They never get too crowded (probably b/c of their off-the-beaten path location), and parking is never really an issue on Geary or nearby streets.
Service is a bit slow, but the food is worth waiting. Usually only one cook and one waiter to serve everyone.

For those of you wandering down Polk St in Russian Hill, Vertigo is a great place to stop in for a drink. If nothing else, they have a great quasi-outdoor seating area that is wonderful getting some fresh air (as long as you avoid the smokers) and avoid the usual crowdiness and sweaty people in indoor bars.
Dance floor is extremely small. Exotic drinks are worth trying.

Richmond New May Wah is perhaps the largest Chinese supermarket in SF, not in Chinatown. Located on Clement Street, parking is an absolute nightmare on weekends. But don't let that stop you from coming for their wide selection of all Chinese and Asian delicacies.
A few bonuses here - unlike most Chinese supermarkets, they actually take credit cards. Also, for those of you who may have a credit card that refunds you 3% to 5% for all gas purchases (vs only 1% for normal purchases), for some reason, Richmond New May Way counts as a gas station when calculating your monthly rebate.
Great selections, reasonable prices.

In general, the more you pay for sushi, the better the quality, and the less you pay, the lower the quality. So on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high), if price is a 10, usually quality is a 10 as well, or if price is only a 5, then quality is only a 5, etc.
Well, not at Sushi House. Prices here are about a 4-5 in the world of bay area sushi restaurants, but the quality is about a 8-9.
Sushi House is so popular they recently relocated to a much larger restaurant space in the same shopping center. Be prepared to wait a long time. But the food is definitely worth the wait.
Parking is easy to find in the South Shore Shopping Center.

Eq3 has very modern looking furniture at very reasonable prices (sort of Ikea-ish, but feel somewhat less cheapm even though price is about the same).
Eq3 has a well-stocked showroom with virtually anything you need to put in your new apartment. Most furniture is relatively normal looking, so should go OK with just about anything.
Most of this stuff will last you only a few years, but then that's why the prices are so good. Assembly is straightforward on most packages, and Eq3 will deliver.
They have a very small parking lot just north of the store. Your best bet is to go on a weekend and find street parking nearby.

Brothers, and its down the street cousin, Brothers II, are well worth the wait. Excellent Korean BBQ at relatively reasonable prices (i.e. not dirt cheap), in a convenient SF location. It's no worder the lines are out the door on weekend evenings.
Best thing to do is drop someone off to get in line, while the driver goes to look for parking (which can take a while).
The service here is as good as you can expect at a crowded Asian restaurant. In other words, you're table will be clean, you'll have napkins and utensils, but don't expect much else from this severely overworked staff.
But the food here is well worth the hassle.

Sports Basement is your one stop shop for outdoorsy sports equipment. They sell almost everything you'll need for running, biking, swimming, basketball, baseball, etc.
More importantly, the staff here is extremely friendly. I've had numerous instances where I was trying to learn about a new product or a cure for an injury (I was having ITB syndrome problems, and their staff helped me find a band for my leg that has helped tremendously).
I highly recommend the Sports Basement for all your needs.
Don't forget to check out the bargain bins for heavily discounted products.

The burritos here taste pretty good. But there are certainly better options if you have time to explore other eateries. Since 360 prides itself on being sort of a "healthier" alternative, sometimes their food lacks a bit of flavor. You can always add more guacamole, salsa, sour cream, etc.
Needless to say, the lunch crowd can make for very long lines Monday to Friday.. Given its financial district location, that's not surprising.

Both long time San Francisco residents and out-of-town visitors looking for something "touristy" to do, will find Beach Blanket Babylon at Club Fugazi and interesting show well worth the money.
The perform uncanny spoofs of current events -both local, national, and international - and these are updated frequently. So no show is ever the same.
All the spoofs are tasteful as well, so feel free to bring your little ones to the show.
Don't try to park here - take a cab or bus. The theater is located in the heart of North Beach and Chinatown - so plenty of pre-show Italian and Chinese cuisine can be had.
