I wouldn't go out of my way to use this specific veterinarian, but we've done OK there. Granted, our cats hate the place, but I imagine they'd hate any veterinarian office. Lets just say, how shall we say this delicately...if someone had "modified" you, you might think twice about going back there ever again. Dr. Dudley is generally pretty smart about stuff, though he doesn't quite seem to connect with the cats well. So if it's close, I wouldn't advise against going here, but again, don't go out of your way to do so...

These guys have been nothing but trouble for us since we bought our VW 2 years ago. Previous to that, when I had a Toyota, I had nothing but good things to say about any of the 2 or 3 different Toyota dealerships I'd had service done at, for everything from little things like oil changes to more significant repairs. Larson VW service constantly is getting confused about what they've done, they take extremely long periods of time to do even simple things like oil changes, and are just generally tightwads with their repair services who are difficult to communicate with. Take your VW elsewhere, and if it's warranty work choose a different dealership. We're done with this place.

Sanford and Son is great for browsing, because they have lots of really neat old furniture and the place is just huge, but I've always thought that most everything there was vastly overpriced. Definitely give it a visit, because there really is great furniture there, and maybe (unlike me) you'll actually find a deal. They've been in business for years so obviously they sell things!

This just looks like a crazy junkyard in the heart of the city on driveby, but treasures lie therein. All sorts of old appliances, fixtures, etc., just crazy stuff, waiting to be saved or otherwise "recycled". It's really quite the experience and a definite "must visit" for the home remodeler or fixer-upper or really anyone else that enjoys exploring piles of old stuff to look for treasures.

Reharvest has a great philosophy of trying to reduce the amount of waste caused by remodeling and other teardown, so they will actually go out and to tearouts for a reduced cost since they can sell the stuff in their store. As a result, they have a big store full of old doors, windows, cabinets, sinks, toilets, etc., all looking for new homes. Definitely worth the occasional browse just to see if there's anything that you can use if you're into remodeling at all.

Mac goes out and buys up estates and then packs the spoils into this warehouse-like building. Sales are every other Saturday, and it's kind of like a giant garage sale with really nice furniture and other fixtures. We've gotten some great deals here on beautiful items and we've seen a lot of other nice stuff go by. We have a 1920s Craftsman house and a lot of the stuff is appropriate to our era of home, but there is also typically some really awesome and crazy 50s and 60s era things. We love to just go browse here, hopefully I won't regret letting out the secret! Keep an eye out for their auctions as well!

Faith Dairy is a local dairy that happens to have an onsite drive-through store for their products. The big bonus for me with Faith Dairy is that you can get your milk in glass bottles, which cuts down big time on the amount of packaging, and in my humble opinion happens to make the milk taste better. When your bottles are empty, you take them back to either recover your deposit or cover the deposit on your next half-gallon. The glass bottles are also available at Stadium Thriftway, fwiw.

Terry's Berries is a wonderful place to get organic produce at a reasonable price, as well as free-range eggs and chickens. Purchases can be made at the farm store or at several local farmers markets such as those in Puyallup and Tacoma. You can also sign up for the CSA program, which entitles you to a weekly "share" of food from the farm, so you can bring home a load of whatever is in season. All of the food is delicious, and its great to support locally grown food that is grown in sustainable ways.

Someone at my office, which is about a block away from this store, said that if it was your anniversary, you could buy anything in the store for your wife and it would be a hit. Not sure if that's true, but they do have a great selection of cards and nice trinkets, etc. And of course the cute corgi to make the visit truly worth it! Great little store that more people should know about!

From the outside this looks like a generic musical instrument store, not to impressive in size. Inside, they've managed to set aside an impressive amount of space for sheet music, though, which is great. It's not the size of JW Pepper at Ted Brown, but the selection is pretty impressive and I oftentimes prefer to look here first even though the drive is longer. They of course have a good general selection of musical instruments as well.
