Ethiopian & African Cuisine

Despite some really bad early experiences with Ethiopian and African food, I really enjoyed eating at Pan African Kitchen near the Pike's Place Market. It's a great place for a low-key meal while you're wandering downtown looking for comfort foods. The people running the place are very friendly. Service was a bit slow because it was lunch rush hour and only two people were working at the tiny place, but we didn't mind because of the pleasant conversational atmosphere. I tried their vegetarian combination lunch which comes with a variety of lentils and greens dishes on a large peice of injera bread. It's quite unique and very different than any other ethnic foods. My friends tried other chicken and veggie dishes, and we all left satisfied. The food was not too spicy, and not too bland, and was quite affordable. I would go again.
