We had Day & Night install an exterior service cleanout to make regular maintanance on our 100 year old ceramin pipes a bit easier. They are very gentle with our pipes and have the experience to work on our rootbound problematic system when Rotorooter couldn't finish the job (and broke their tool off in our system because they were being too rough).
With our most recent problem, Bruce Sr. himself stopped by to lend expertise and offer us some solutions. They were not pushy, and the prices were good. They even were kind enough to offer us a generous break on prices since we're getting married in a month and things are tight. Thank you Steve and Bruce and the rest of your team!

These young guys don't have much tact in dealing with customers, seemed to be in a HUGE hurry, broke their tool inside our system, blamed our previous plumber, and left without finishing the job. Call someone who doesn't just employ kids on summer break from high school or college - call a real plumber, many companies are cheaper and better.
btw -the "real" plumbers showed up and finished the job just fine. No thanks Rotorooter! ;-)

Tula's downtown is an excellent place to grab dinner or a drink and groove to whatever is playing. The music has always been well worth the cover charge.

We used Blooma for maintenance on our massive spruce and a japanese maple, and also to remove a largish bush. They were fast, courteous, and professional. The person we dealt with was named Martin, he was recommended by our local hardware store. He and his crew were friendly and knowledgeable and we were happy with the end result.

Chez Shea is upscale and absolutely fabulous on all counts. The interior is romantic and cozy. Watching the sun set with Pike's Place Market as your foreground, and the wide expanse of the Puget Sound as your background is simply amazing. The food is incredible.
For an upscale place, it's the opposite of pretentious.
Make reservations in advance. They usually have a chef's tasting menu which is a Prix Fixe menu with wine pairings (if you please). They also let you select your courses from an a la carte menu if the Prix Fixe doesn't suit you. I usually go that route since I don't eat beef - which often shows up in one or more of the courses.
The three times that I've been there have been the best three meals of my life. Romantic, tasty, spectacular.

We called to enquire about air conditioners and told they were getting a big shipment in that night. We went down to the store the next morning and they told us there was no shipment the night before and none anytime soon, but they had some wonderful fans that we could buy.
Because of this lie, we wasted an hour of our time driving up there to get something they guaranteed would be in stock. Don't trust these guys.

Thanks everyone!
I visited last night with friends and we had a great time. The pub serves a good selections of wine and beer, but no liquor. The hefeweizen on tap was very good, and others enjoyed their wine selections.
We sampled the sandwiches, chicken pot pie, and nachos. The nachos were pretty typical, but tasty. The salsa on them seemed really freshly made, but the cheese on them was kind of standard and oily. Their sandwiches are excellent (of course, because they're from the Honey Bear Bakery upstairs) and the chicken pot pie was really amazing.
The decor inside is really interesting. Its very cozy and everything is rough wood, giant peices of raw wood. Quite beautiful and smells nice too.
This is a great place to go relax and read, have a conversation, hang out with friends and doodle on coasters or just talk about books. There's a bookstore with espresso conveniently located upstairs in case you run out of things to discuss in the pub.
I would highly recommend it as a low key hangout for good beer and simple, but well prepared food. The air conditioning was a nice bonus since it's been in the 90's.

Despite some really bad early experiences with Ethiopian and African food, I really enjoyed eating at Pan African Kitchen near the Pike's Place Market. It's a great place for a low-key meal while you're wandering downtown looking for comfort foods. The people running the place are very friendly. Service was a bit slow because it was lunch rush hour and only two people were working at the tiny place, but we didn't mind because of the pleasant conversational atmosphere.
I tried their vegetarian combination lunch which comes with a variety of lentils and greens dishes on a large peice of injera bread. It's quite unique and very different than any other ethnic foods. My friends tried other chicken and veggie dishes, and we all left satisfied. The food was not too spicy, and not too bland, and was quite affordable. I would go again.
