A bit of heaven... 8/24/2005

Ginnie Springs has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to in my life. It is located in High Springs florida. Divers come from all over to underwater cave dive. I have not been brave enough to cave dive myself, but i have seen actual divers make their way to the caves. The water is crystal clear, and about 70 degrees year round. You are able to get a good vision of the divers. The water seems extremely cold, and is a nice distractant from the florida humidity. Ginnie Springs is the perfect get away, away from the tourist traps. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch, and cabins and campground faucilities are available. Be sure to book your cabin reservations months and months in advance. Some days, you will be lucky enough to see manatee. Ginnie Springs has canoe and tube rental. My favorite happens to be tubing. Don't worry about anything, Put your tube in the water and chose your point of pick up. Ginnie Springs will pick you up from your destination, and bring you back to the campground. Be sure to pick a day when there is not going to be a lighting storm...lol!! They will not be able to pick you up until you have reached your point of destination. That is the only downfall of the whole experience. It is good for all who are entering the springs to be able to know how to swim. There are some shallow spots, as well as deep drop offs. more
