Just go check it out. Incredibly interesting atmosphere for people watching, plus great food. home of the 12 egg omelet and never ending hash browns. Best hash browns in Seattle, possibly the States...dripping with butter.
One non smoking table and a juke box that has had the same songs in it for 20 years.
Coffee for some reason is pretty good... maybe because of the quick pouring sugar containers on each table. You'll probably wait for a table between 2am and 5am. I've never been there during daylight hours.

If you want something truly catholic...this is the place to go. Family owned and operated with an orthodox lean, this place is a treasure. Something for all ages, and they can also special order. vercillo's also is a hub for Orthodox Catholic news and events. Need a gift for any Sacrament, or a prayer card or scapular(they have the one Mel Gibson wears Crusader's cross) you will find it here. Also a good place to find Saint medals and prayer cards. you also get a discount if you work or volunteer for a church.

Village books is a must stop if passing through Bellingham. It resides in the fairhaven area of the town. It is not huge, but it has many unique treasure that are fun to browse through, and more often than not end up purchasing.
Because it is an old house, it is easy to get lost wandering around. It is quite fun though, because you never know what lies around the next corner. There is a great cafe inside upstairs if you want to take a quick break.
Nice place to spend a day with friends for independant and group reading.

I didn't think this place would last when it first opened, but they have proved me wrong, and made me into a loyal customer. Always friendly staff, quick service, and decent prices add up to a winning combination. They have also added grab and go sandwiches from honey baked ham, so you can get a latte and a sandwich or pastry, all in one stop. They also still offer a punch card that give a free drink for every ten. It's convenient to pull of 320th street from either direction. Check it out!

If you are looking for genuine old fashioned home cooked southern meals, look no further. Located in a tiny building near the Stadium district, this place has a loyal following for many reasons. Try the catfish, okra, hush puppies and fried chicken. Also save some room for the tasty fresh baked desserts like sweet potato pie. You can also sometimes sample their wares at the Taste of Tacoma. i believe they will also cater. not the best neighborhood, so lock your car.

I have had several great eating experiences here at this Italian restaurant. I have enjoyed the specialty pizzas, as well as the pasta. I appreciate the fact that they stay open late while most other p;aces close early. The service staff is amazing. The hostesses are just ok. A friend of mine had their rehearsal dinner here...they did great. I also like that they serve bread sticks and butter before the meal. On some days they have great specials for two. My favorite pizza is the salami and pepperoni with pineapple, and fresh tomatoes.

Inay's is good for the quick Filipino food fix, but not the best. Sometimes I worry about the cleanliness, and wonder who is a worker, and who is a family or a family friend just helping out. I have had mixed results here, but in a craving, it's hard to mess up adobo or a lumpia. Service can be slow at times, other times quick. I think you get better service if you speak tagalog. I haven't returned in awhile, so things may be different... worth a try I'd say, and you make up your own mind.

Marlene's is located in an old REI space. The deli is located upstairs, as well as the espresso bar. The sandwiches here are like a good workout... you just feel great after eating one. You can add a variety of toppings for free. And the toppings are all very fresh. I like the ability to add a variety of different vegetables including grated carrots, cucumber etc. The breads are fresh, and they have non wheat alternatives like spelt. They also have a variety of healthy fresh baked goods, salads, vegetarian items and an awesome salad bar. While you wait for your sandwich to be made you can get a quick seated massage. They also have daily rotating hot items.

I am a pretty strong Starbuck's fan, so to get me to switch was tough. My experience here has always been good. The staff is always friendly, and ask's about your day. They have punch cards for regulars, and have double punch days as well. They also have great coffee alternatives. I drink sugar free products, and enjoy the sugar free white chocolate powder that they use. They also have sugar free orange creamsicles. Granitas also available as well as cookies and standard quick grab and go goodies. They have a location next to Tacoma Community College as well, but my experience there has been hit and miss, but the coffee is still great.

This place has been my favorite since the 70's when my parents would [romise me a slice if I was nice to the babysitter. It's all in their crust...hard to explain... it's has a whole different feel and taste to it that has to be experienced. They also have a great spicy pepperoni they use. You might need to dab the grease off the top. Order ahead to have it ready when you arrive, or to go. i order easy sauce extra well done. The pizza freezes and reheats in a toaster over quite well for up to 3 months after.
On a side note, they have great dinner salad also.
