The biggest drawback is the sound. It echo's very badly depending on who you hire to do the sound for you.
If you are seating people upstairs, the sound is even worse, unless you place speakers above. best place to set up sound for band or DJ is directly underneath the court house doors.
The planning staff is a bit stuffy, but the place is a one of a kind atmosphere for gala events.

They have two main lodges, and then a small cabin for guest speaker, or retreat leader.
Another bonus is there are two hot tubs on premise.
Tennis/Volleyball courts, big field for games. And a great kitchen for you to do your own cooking.

The kitchen and catering could use a little work. but the food that they do serve is pretty tasty. they have a hard time meeting special requests from my two experiences there.
The lodge is a great facility, there is also a huge field for games. Near several awesome hiking trails. This is on the way to Crystal Mountain. Address above is booking address and administrative offices.

You can bring your own cooks and save money. it is a bit of a drive, so gas and or bus transportation may be a consideration. The staff is accomodating.
Overall, this place works. Check it out for yourself.

This is a great place to get away without getting too far away. it is located just five minutes from shopping and stores such as Costco, Cash and Carry, and Home Depot.

Great for group retreats and camps. Recreation including swimming, canoeing, volleyball, basketball and soccer. Covered basketball courts/ sport court for winter and fall.
Kitchen on site with fireplace in dining area... bring your own cooks and save money.
This is a great bargain... reserve early. Also has very strong and supportive on site management team.

They have several different lodges to choose from, mix and match, plus a lot of fun things to do around the camp itself, from climbing walls, volleyball, frisbee golf, a huge tire swing, and lakefront swimming are. Also have a great fire pit.
The food is included, and is buffet style, and never runs short. it is also very tasty.
They have their own latte stand, gift shop, and pop machines.

Don't get me wrong...this facility can be dressed up, and can also serve it's purpose, but I believe compared to other venues in the local area, it is barely average. they have the ability to have multiple functions going on at once, which becomes a problem because there is really only one elevator, and it has to be operated by someone who knows how to use it.
They try and make you use their DJ's, which can be hit or very bad miss.
The staff and general managers are very good and pleasant to work with, which is a good thing since the facility is wanting a good face lift.

This is a great flower shop if you need to send flowers to someone in any of the various hospitals in the Medical Center area.
I used them from out of town, sight unseen. They attempted to deliver the flowers, but the hotel had the wrong name down. They called me right away to confirm the delivery, and then went back and delivered them again.
When I arrived, the bouquet they sent and the balloons were worth the price I paid.
Oh, and I called on short notice beofre closing time.

The office staff here and planners, to be honest do not impress me, and from what I have heard from brides, just are not very personable. The event staff seems to be very good.
The ceremonies happen upstairs in a church like atmosphere. They have an adequate built in sound system... one speaker, but it works.
The receptions take place downstairs. Very difficult room to do sound in... it is very long and echo-ey.
Summer weddings sometimes difficult for photographers to shoot due to big window behind altar.
Some people must like it because it books out... oh and it is also tough to get to for Friday events due to traffic.... MAJOR TRAFFIC!

This place is amazing for small events and receptions. First of all, the view is incredible. The set-up allows an initmate feel. Good parking, GREAT service, and very good event staff...
This place is amazing for small events and receptions. First of all, the view is incredible. The set-up allows an initmate feel. Good parking, GREAT service, and very good event staff management.
The food was also very very delicious. the indidually served dinners are a treat, especially when you take advantage of the Northwest seafood that is in season.
They will go out of their way to make sure they exceed your expectations.
