i'm mostly gonna talk about the driving range, because the grounds at the university golf course are a lot better. the driving range here is excellent, there's usually never a crowd here, and the golf balls are quite cheap. the range itself is impressive, with an incredibly huge net (which is required since there's greenbelt road with lots of traffic) right opposite it. a nice trail also winds through the course, good for both jogging, walking and golfing.

they only rent out to graduate students and faculty at the university of maryland. if you're not one, then you have to get someone to sponsor you. the prices are fair, but there is a lot of crime come night time. the place is crawling with muggers, but on the bright side, there are lots of immigrant families living here and it is very easy to make friends.
also, every week there is some sort of moving sale, so it's a good place to live if you like buying things and also having a quiet place to study.

They have enough alleys for a whole family to go bowling and have a good time. They also have fun little toy vending machines. They charge about 5 dollars per game for bowling. Along with bowling alleys, they also have pool tables. Customers are free to stay and play as long as they wish to. It can be considered to be quite a nice place for dating.

PC warehouse is a tiny store right opposite the Circuit City on Route 1. it has an okay selection of computer parts, but they do have a lot of computer cases. it's mostly for DIY computer freaks, who want to put together their own machines with nice lighting and water cooling and such.
Tip - you can bargain your way down if you're a regular. It's not a chain store, so they're more accomodating to price-lowering requests. Very friendly staff.

It is a nice place to find bangla spices, snacks, rice, roti, flour, samosa, and etc. You may even ask the store keepers for special orders from Bangladesh, it might take a while, but it will be there. Pricing is fair at Bangla Bazar. Store keepers are very friendly. They also offer Bangla and Hindi movies and music for sale and rent. They have the most recent movies and drama series from both Bangladesh and India. The store is neat and clean. It is open during normal hours during the day.

if you're asian, this supermarket has a LOT of excellent food items for you. however, if you're not, then you can go in and wander the aisles to look for weird and obscure foods that might interest your palate. i seem to recall them always having a fresh supply of seafood, including crabs and eels that you can pick out from tanks to have killed in front of you. you can also find the occasional south asian foods, including big bags of rice that are really cheap.

Purple Potamus is a nice place to rent movies from. It has a lot of movies archived according to genre in there. They have old and recent movies, so customers are satisfied. The store is always neat and clean. The customer service is great, there is never a line at the register. It says "Purple Potamus" right in front of the store in dark purple and I think it has a purple hippo picture too (i might be imagining that); that is what attracts its customers I suppose, but all in all, it is a decent place for renting movies. Their pricing is just like any other ordinary movie renting stores for rents.
