I have been using Dr. Darrow as an OB and I have to say I am very disappointed. Granted I think he is knowledgeable but he is very impersonal during his visits. He is very rushed and it seems that his main focus is fitting as many patients into his schedule as possible. He doesn't take the time to listen and visit with the patient as an individual. He doesn't even stay in the room for more than 3 minutes at a time. Usually the doctor would be the one to listen for the heartbeat but its always a medical assistant who does it... and a different one every time at that. It makes me very uncomfortable. On a couple of occasions he has been rude and it seems that his favorite answer for every complaint or concern is "You must not be eating right." Surely, Dr. Darrow, there are conditions with symptoms that have nothing to do with how the mother is eating. I know that I will be researching into what his percentage of c-sections versus vaginal deliveries is, as I wouldn't want to be party to an unnecessary coercive c-section. As from having previous children with different, more caring doctors, I know it is important to have a doctor present during your delivery that you know cares and is not rude. I am actually hoping that he is not going to be the doctor on duty if I happen to go into labor on my own.
