I have a 15 month old who will be participating in the Little Goblins Halloween Carnival at Meadowbrook Community Center Saturday, October 22, 2005 (11am-1pm). The carnival is designed for the little guys and features games, prizes, food etc. You might also want to check out the other City of Seattle Community Centers for Halloween activities. I have attended a spooky swim at Rainier Beach Community Center and a Fright Night (not scary at all) in the past and have been immensely pleased with their Halloween alternatives. Hope this helps!

I have had the absolute best experience with Dr. Ann Bridges at the Polyclinic. She was referred to me by some friends for my pregnancy and I have kept going back to her because of her level of professionalism. She is very thorough, honest and really cares about her patients. During my pregnancy, she kept me well-informed about what was going on, what to expect and offered lots of advice. I was really impressed by how many home remedies or over-the counter medicines she suggested. It made me confident that when she did need to write a prescription it was because I needed it, not because she was being backed by pharmeucutical companies. The staff at the Polyclinic are great as well. They can almost always accomodate your schedule, the nurses call back in a timely manner and the lobby is always warm and inviting.

There is a photographer names Earica Brown at the downtown (not to be confused with the Roosevelt) Yuen Lui, who is absolutely amazing. You'll love her if you enjoy photos that are truly unique and definitely a far cry from the norm. My son has had several "special occasion" portraits taken there (they are far too expensive to go there regularly) and each time was truly enjoyable and, the pictures were fabulous. The staff is OK and so is the service, but Earica is amazing. I would recommend her for large family portraits, birthday pictures, seniors and holiday sittings.

My son is a year old now and I have been taking him to the Meadowbrook pool since he was 3 months. They offer convenient times as well as a variety of different class structures. We are currently attending a mommy, daddy and me class. We go at 11:30am on Saturdays and the class is about a half hour long. We pay $36.00 for 8 classes and we have a great time. The instructors are great and my little seems to enjoy himself. I would highly recommend this facility. A word of caution though, register early as classes have a tenancy to fill quickly!
