Three convienent locations throughout Seattle (fremont, ballard, and capitol hill) with reasonable store hours (10-10 most days except Sunday 10 -7). A great place to buy your cds/vinyls from! They may not be as cheap as Tower Records, but it's a great indie Seattle business to contribute to. If you're a KEXP member get 10% off any regularly priced item. Their t-shirts are cheap ($10) and oh so fashionable (makes a great gift!). Next time you need to pick up a music gift certificate - make it to sonic boom record! They have a great selection and helpful "top lists" (what they're playing on KEXP, best sellers at indie record stores, employee faves etc). Do the right thing and shop at sonic boom.

When I first moved to Seattle and needed some work done on my Nissan Sentra I found out about Lioe's shop and checked it out. The family-run business was bustling right when it opened and Lioe himself was quite cheerful and friendly. They're fast, thorough, and really care about the work they do. Pricing is very reasonable! On one occasion, I came to my car one morning and found someone had smashed into my driver-side mirror and hadn't even left a note! I took it to Lioe's to get it replaced and told him of my situation - he was so upset about the incident as well that he offered to replace it for the price of the part and no labor! It was a warming gesture that made me a loyal customer!

Everything in Velouria seems to plead to be in your closet. Creative and just plain cute skirts, hoodies, and dresses (a great place to find that original holiday dress!). I only wish my wallet could live up to the prices and buy one of everything in the store - reasonably priced items for handmade, colorful goods. A range of women's clothing, jewelry, wallets, purses, and other accessories to gaze at longingly!

The smaller Pho Bac sits as a stand-alone building at the corner of the Jackson-14th Ave-Rainer intersection (not the larger Pho Bac Restaurant). It offers Pho and nothing but! Cheap bowls of Pho are served up fast and fresh with the traditional "trimmings" of bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and lime - add in some hoison sauce and siracha and you're set for the perfect cure for a rainy Seattle day. Visit often to figure out your favorite combination of rare steak, well done steak, meatballs, tripe and or tendon!

Mad Market's organic produce, (mostly) sustainable seafood, and meats are of amazing quality! The market isn't huge and you because of its size you can't always find what you're looking for, but if you ask anyone for the item they're quite helpful in trying to offer it in the future. Parking in the parking garage can be a challenge at times (but it's nice to be only 2 blocks away!). I always wish the deli would be comparable to the Skagit Valley Coop in Mt. Vernon, but it does the job. The "beauty" section has a great selection of lotions, soaps, and lip balms - all great stocking stuffers!
