Last time I went to this zoo I left feeling very depressed. I often find PETA protesting this zoo. The animals all look miserable. They are couped up in tiny cages, it smells of manure, and most cages are just concrete.
I think the Lions made me the most sad, the ones outside were not moving, dispite the constant heckling of people watching them, and the Lions inside were not moving, because they had no room to do so.
So if you want to teach your kids how animal rights are important and should be considered in some respects, go to the Como Zoo. If you want to see animals happy and in nice environments, go to the Minnesota Zoo.
